So I'm curious. What is the answer to this question-do we know yet? Is there really no way to re-fill the fresh water when boondocking on the new rigs?

This seems like such a basic requirement to me, that its hard to imagine that it would just be eliminated.

When we are at multi day concerts, we re-fill with the 6 gallon water jugs. At these times, we usually don't even have the option of moving (besides the inconvenience).

Chris says "I also have the ability to fill my tank using the shore water hose bibs also, controlled by a valve near the water pump. Both have worked well."

Chris and Dave,

I hear what you're saying, that you can use the "antifreeze" valve in the basement but you still have to have shore water to fill your tank. From what I can tell, PI simply added an extra valve on ours to the utility center for easy access (I still have the same valve on mine as you do yours), but the issue remains........if you don't have city water access to add to the city water connection, how do you get fresh water into the fresh water tank??? !!!

Bryan, where are you? Help!

No answer yet, But I bet Bryan will give an answer. And it'll be something simple that we've just overlooked. rockin'

Rockin' on my unit I have a valve that is in line with the exterior hose bib that lets me fill the tank when opened. It is the valve with the white label on it. Opening that valve will fill the tank...turn off when the desired level is reached.

The valve for the antifreeze is below the elbow in the line and has nothing to do with the other valve.

You still are SKIA. Didn't mean to take the subject off how to fill the tank without being connected to 'city water' by posting the pictures. There might be as I don't know anything about the 'newer' units.

Maybe I need to buy one and park it next to the Beast so when a question is asked....I can look at it and be closer to having a good answer. But then there goes the allowance!

I realize that not all of you are set up the way I am. I have a 50 gallon barrel the I can haul water in. To pump it over into the rig I hook up a little 12 volt water pump and hose to pump water into the rig. I do have a place to fill my fresh water tank like to older rigs so it is not a problem for me. We have done this when I was going to Nascar races when there were 13 rigs and one of the guys had a 250 gallon tank.

I think if a person was to hook the hose to the city water connection, you would be able to fill your fresh water tank this way. I have not done this but it should work since most pumps will pump around 40 - 50 lbs. of pressure.

SKIA,we are on the fixed income thing also and bought a nicer rig then you and ain't complaining. I do what I want and still maintain a S/B home. So don't whine to us about the little things in life. There I'm done picking on you for today.

I don't care how NEW an RV is it should have an easy way to fill the water tank. Out here in earthquake land these could end up as our only homes, you want it to be easy.

my DH the engineer has come up with a solution. I have taken some photos. It doesn't go fast but it seems to work. Can someone tell me how to insert photos into the post. Do I really have to have them on the web first?

One thing on many coaches.. If you know where your water tank is look on the sides above the tank for a square door, perhaps 6-8" on a side, it will have a key lock. Open that door and if there is a cap on a 1 1/4" hose behind it.. JOY is yours

Now, one poster found that door.. and the cap behind it.. In the ENGINE compartment of all places.
