Since there is not a NH forum here perhaps I can bag on them just this little bit and get away with it.

According to RV Consumer Group's ratings the Excel Wild Cargo is better rated overall than New Horizon's Motomover. NH out performs Excell by a few points in 'Reliability' and 'Value' but falls substantially behind in the category of 'Highway Control'. The Wild Cargo is rated at 4 1/2 stars over all and the Motomover gets 4 stars.

The average MSRP for the Wild Cargo is $83, 415.00. The Motomover $99,495.00.

Unloaded Vehicle Weight for the WC = 15,140 lbs ... NH = 16,860 lbs .

Payload capacity for the WC = 6,769 lbs ...NH = 4,474 lbs

Payload -to-capacity ratio for the WC = 30% and is said to be 'excellent' ratings wise. the NH is 20% and is called 'good'.

The use rating for the WC is listed as 'Snowbirding'. The second highest rating. The NH is rated for full timing. The highest rating.

The average depreciation percentages for 1 through 20 years are nearly identical. Less than half a point difference with the edge going to the New Horizons unit.

(I should note however there is only 1 WC unit in the ratings sheets and there are 4 Motomovers.)

Thanks Scott -- interesting, given the Wild Cargo hasn't been on the market but a few months. A Wild Cargo, in a Limited Edition, with the gray fiberglass would be a stand-out toyhauler.

With black and charcoal gray stripeing and Overkill painted and trimmed out to match would really, really be a nice looking rig.

I figured out how to get by with the recliner not across from the TV......make the garage the "family room" after stopping. Now I gotta get more kitchen counter space in there somehow to satisfy the boss. Imagine, a fulltimer's toyhauler.

Scott....
The "Snowbird" rating is an error on RVC's part. The Wild Cargo is build with the same spec's as all of our other product. It carries the "TEN BELOW ZERO" guarantee, has our residential carpet, countertops, solid wood, 1 3/8" access doors, etc..... There's not a better insulated toy hauler on the market. The WC should carrie a full time rating. I will be in touch with RVC to see what I can do to get that corrected.

Thanks,
Bryan

Looked at the New Horizon site and don't have access to the RV Consumer report.....but from the information provided can't see how the Motomover had a better 'Value' rating. It would seem to me if it cost more, weights more and has less payload capacity it wouldn't be a better value. My Thinkin' is usually off anyway.

Guess instead of pounding the phone receiver on the counter several times and then hanging up when those Pollin' people call....my Thinkin' might be recorded.

Can just see you guys now at the 2009 Family Reunion, The WCs dressed out and on review. Virg in the "Family Room, Chief watching NASCAR and trying to keep the Forum out of trouble, Bob inventing something, Chris (wild kargo) adding something else to his unit and RockinTom holding Happy Hour and greeting the 50 new members He signed up that day. To make things 'fair', your parked at Lake Sullivan this year to make things easier for Larry....because your just that kind of guys.

Bryan, with Global Warming and livin' in Florida...hope I never need the "Ten below zero" guarantee.

Chris (WorkHorse), I can see all of us 'dropping' into Orange Park, FL for a winter rendezvous -- don't tell your neighbors, we'll surprise them!

You know...I hope Chris doesn't mind me telling you, but he has a huge front and backyard that could accommodate us very well. Getting the pedestals, water and sewer in this summer would be a breeze for this talented lad! And I know these folks know how to entertain!!! Oh, the neighbors? I've got a nice stash of Valium, that will take off the edge!!! Donna says it works for her...so she can live with me!

well, I can tell that Mr. Gallant 'fixates' on certain little things. Put a back splash in your galleys and that could tip the scales.

.....was over the other day, He had gone an installed a 11x94 driveway extention in the back yard. He said it keeps the unit cleaner, I thank it's because he got the 'Beast' stuck twice with that 'little' truck trying to get it in the old parking space.

Can't tell what he's doing yet...but looks like he installed two 50 amp pedestals with cable, phone hookups and water at either end. With the backyard dug up, said he's looking for the mole thats tunneling up the yard....but looks like a grey waste drain to me. Think he's trying to confuse his neighbors. Said he would be happy if he could move the house over 'bout 3 feet.

You know...I hope Chris doesn't mind me telling you...

Everyone have a GREAT and SAFE Memorial Day. Remember why we have this special day.

Scott,

Check this topic for pictures of the gray exterior -- IMO, the 'gray' sets this Excel off from all the white SOBs.

Larry,
Wife has a great aunt in St. Mary's, GA and relations in the Jacksonville, FL area. As 'Rockin" would say, we could have a "large" time in Chris' backyard.
