Generator storage

We purchased a couple inverter generators for the 5ver and have a tool box in the bed of the tow vehicle. Just curious if they will be ok in the tool box during the heat of the day, when not in use. If any one has experience with this I would appreciate any insight. Thanks Jimmy

If you have an aluminum checker plate box, it should be OK. Black box, not so good.
I have an aluminum checker plate box in the back of my Ranger, and things stay pretty cool because the sun's heat is reflected away.
A black box will absorb heat like crazy, and turn into an oven real quick.
Another thing to think about is the fuel vapours coming out of the tanks as things heat up. Just be careful with anything that can make a spark when you open up after a hot day.
Happy Glamping.

I carry a single Champion 3500 watt inverter strapped and locked in the right rear corner of the truck bed. Makes it very easy to hook up to use for a few minutes when needed. We also have a remote control for the geny. I carry an extra five gallons of fuel strapped in the back of the truck behind my tool box.
