Hi!

My husband (sfischer) and I are looking to go out to Smith Center to take a factory tour this Fall, prior to ordering our full-time rig early next year. Unfortunately, we have to fly out, and stay in a motel. A quick internet search indicated only 3 "Mom and Pop" type motels in Smith Center. Salina (2 hours away) seemed to be the next biggest town with motel chains.

Has anyone stayed in a motel in/near Smith Center, and could recommend a decent motel?

Thanks in advance.

The US Center is a very clean Motel in Smith Center, and only a couple of blocks from the Excel Factory. Give Excel a call @ 1-800-368-3795 and inquire with Marsha at the front desk. She should be able to give you the phone number for them.

Ditto on US Center. I have stayed there many times over the last 20+ years. It did change owners last year so it is not as nice as in the past but is still nice. The other one to the west is also nice. Just two block futher to get to Excel. Don't remember the name right now.

I would stay in Smith Center as Salina is 100 miles away. Great family food also.

Thanks, wrongway and Still Working. US Center sounds like the winner! I can find their number online.

I appreciate your help....

If you like B&Bs you might consider the Ingleboro Mansion B&B which is located near down town Smith Center. Sharon and I stayed there once and it was a very nice experience. The folks who own it are very nice folks. Try this link. Ingleboro Mansion B&B

Thanks for sharing Bob. This looks like a nice place. Donna and I used to do B&Bs before RVing. It is lots of fun. This place is just down the street from Bryan's crib. Reckon' he has a B&B for his really good customers??!!!

We spent Tuesday night of this week in room 10 at the US Center Motel and I gotta tell you, on a scale of 1-10, we're talking a 3 or 4 at best. The room was musty smelling and not as clean as I would have hoped. Another couple stayed at the Modernaire Motel another block or so down on 36 and reported back that it was old but clean and had no odor to the room.
