First weekend in the trailer and could not figure out which outside outlet and inside cable were designated for hooking up my satellite system.

On the back corner of the rv are two stacked outlets. The top one has a phone jack and cable jack, the bottom one has two cable jacks. Can any body tell from that configuration which one is for satellite, and what the other outside ones are for? Then which cable coming out of the wall of the trailer would be the satellite cable?

Thanks for any help. Excel L35SEO model

Kevin,

On my unit the cable jack that is located next to the phone jack is the one for cable TV. The 2 cable jacks that are next to each other are for satellite. One is for the living room and the other is for the bedroom. In my entertainment center is a cable to a splitter. That one is the cable TV line. I also have a A/B splitter that is for the satellite hook up. A is wired for a roof mount and B is for a portable dish.
Hope this helps.

Paul

Just to add to Paul's response. On my unit the satellite connection on the right is for the living room, the left for the bedroom. This is loking at the conntections.

The boys here are right on...Here is a pic of mine. They started labeling the connections with a decal. That doesn't mean that I haven't plugged my cable into the satelite area! Duh!

Regarding the A/B switch...the easy way for me to remember it is A=attic B=basement. And I don't even have a satelite unit...yet.

The info is helping me piece together how this thing is wired. When I get to the trailer this coming weekend, I think this should be pretty easy.

Thanks for all the help,
