hide-a-bed operation

Greetings! New to iRV2 forum and Excel Owner's Forum. I own a 2011 Winslow 31RLE and just love it. However, I tried to fold out the hide-a-bed sofa and found that the top of bed was about 6 inches higher than the foot of the bed. The top (head) of the bed will not go any lower due to the cushions on the couch. I am wondering if I am doing it (folding out the bed) correctly and that is just the way it is or what. I have searched my manual, went to Peterson Industries web site, etc. but the directions are for a different sofa. Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful. The bed is Legget-Platt (I also went to that web site with no luck).

Another weird posting issue.....all that I typed went away for some reason.

Welcome Steve to the Excel Forum!!!!

Anyhow, the head of the hide a bed is higher by design. To me it almost feels like your gonna slide off the end!!! I wonder if it's to be able to watch TV better from the hide a bed. I wished I would have got the regular residential couch and just invested for a nice air mattress for the GD. But I didn't. I'll be more cautious next time. Just a preference. rockin'

We have spoken with L & P to try to get this issue resolved. They have improved it some but it's still not perfectly level on the current models. (Much better though)

We supply 4 wood blocks (Covered in fabric) to put under each of side of the two bed legs to make the H-A-B level. It's not the perfect solution but it does improve the levelness of the bed.

If you don't have those, please call Vicki at P.I. and let her know. She will send them to you no charge.

Thanks Bryan,

I got my blocks today and they are very simple but works. Here's some pix I took of them. Looks like a 2"X base and a 1"X side covered in fabric like they use in the basement walls. Don't pay an attention to the glass of red wine....got some heavy drinking neighbors!!!!!!!!
