Hope we found the right area/forum

Howdy! Used to own an old 86 Allegro MH (the big brown and white box) sold it years ago and now just found a one owner 1977 20 ft TT Excel. All original, no mods that I can see and straight. I'm guessing this is the correct forum for us. Actually looking for an owners manual, anyone? anyone? Ferris? :-)
Reading threads here at iRv2 but have some good knowledge of RV repair from previous box. Lots of interesting stuff here.

If it is an Excel by Peterson Industries your in the right place. The president of PI monitors and contributes to this forum. I bet he would be excited to here more about your vintage Excel. Or you can give PI a call. Real nice folk over there.

Not positive, but think you may be talking about another Excel. If you post a pic of the trailer I could tell you for sure. I don't believe Peterson Excel made a TT in '77 but could be wrong. They were fooling around with thing about that time frame. They did a Dodge van conversion around that time, IRRC. Did a truck camper but that was before that, I think.

Anyhow, a quick and easy way to tell if it is a Peterson Excel, is if the name decal that says "Excel"......if the E is rounded and the bottom of the "E" extends underneath the other letters, it's a Peterson. The other Excel has block lettering. I believe these were originally built in CA......and eventually move to another state...I don't recall...maybe Nevada... then went out of business in the late 80's early 90's.......I'm doing this from recall, so all may not be accurate. HTH rockin'

According to Excel's website, they built their first travel trailer in 1969. In 1974, they also started building class C motorhomes. Their first fifth wheel was built in 1980. They had a fire in 1983 that destroyed all records and files of previous production.( that means that Excel would not have any info for you) They stopped production of travel trailers around 1997 and started just recently again in 2011. Since your trailer is a 1977 model, it could be a Peterson Ind. unit.
