Just got back to the forum after a week at Mayo Clinic. The broom site you list is the one I have purchased and just used it two days ago. The only disadvantage I have found is its weight and the design is something that one needs to get used to as you make your sweep. However. it is just the right tool for me since I cannot climb on roofs. Maverik

I was just getting ready to order one of these telescoping ladders from an Amazon vendor when I read a Consumer Repors review of ladders. They rated it Unacceptable due to danger of crushing fingers and hands.

Bruce and Jenna,
We've had our telescoping ladder about 8 years and I've got all my fingers and my hands haven't been crushed!~! Common sense, don't stick your hands/fingers in places they shouldn't be and you won't have a problem. The ladders are clearly labeled NOT to place your hands/fingers between the rungs when you are collapsing the ladder.

I've only had mine about three years, and got pinched once. (had a brain f art, wasn't paying attention)

If you close it alone, it is possible to catch your finger. If you and your wife collapse it together as a team, you will have no problems.

It doesn't take up too much room in the basement, and looks better than bungeeing a ladder to your rear steps

We bought a folding ladder at Wal-Mart earlier this year. It's similar in type to the Little Giant ladder, but MUCH less expensive!

THERE ARE DEFINITELY PROS AND CONS TO SLIDE TOPPERS... WHICH HAVE BEEN HIT ON MY MR. WILSON...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND SLIDE TOPPERS TO THE WEEKEND WARRIORS...
FOR THE FULL TIMERS THOUGH THE SLIDE TOPPERS TEND TO BE MORE BENEFICIAL AS FAR AS PROTECTING THE ROOF FROM UV RAYS AND KEEPING THEM FREE OF DEBRIS.
THE CAREFREE SLIDE OUT "SUMMIT" HAS A FEATURE CALLED LIFT ARMS THAT PREVENT WATER FROM POOLING ON THE FABRIC AND SO STRETCHING OF FABRIC AND SO-FORTH BECOME A NON-FACTOR.
IT ALSO KEEPS THE FABRIC TAUGHT SO THERE IS LESS "FLAPPIN' IN THE BREEZE".
YOU CAN ALSO PURCHASE THE LIFT ARM KIT AND UPGRADE YOUR EXISTING SLIDE OUT KOVER II "SOKII".
*THIS KIT WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU ALREADY HAVE SOK II..!!

OTHERWISE I HAVE HAD CUSTOMERS TELL ME THAT THEY USE A BEACH BALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SLIDE AWNINGS TO ACCOMMODATE MIDDLE SUPPORT FOR THE SLIDE TOPPER FABRIC.

HOPE THIS WILL HELP...

I use a 6 foot stepladder and use a extendable squeegee/mesh sponge that motorhomes use to clean the windshield, about $12.00 at Wal-Mart. Takes the rain/dew and leaves off without any trouble

You can clean the top of all your slides from a 6' ladder?

I usta skydive (a bunch). I'd rather dive from an airplane at 15,000 feet than stand on the edge of my roof, let alone the top rung of any ladder. So thanks anyway.

OP here. I finally found that cool extension ladder. After many phone calls to hardware stores and searches on Amazon, I walked into Fred Meyers in Olympia WA and there it sat.

Now sitting in my LR awaiting the grand opening tomorrow as I clean off my slide for departure.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. My slides thank you too.
