How do you clean off the top of your slides? I ain't goin' on that roof any more than necessary, that's for sure. Today I tilted the nose up before hitching to spill off water, but I can't count on that for debris.

A 7' step ladder with a long pole, perhaps? I was thinking of attaching the wand on the hose of my air compressor to the end of the brush to blow off dirt and water.

Don't tell me to get a teenager. Too much overhead. (Get it? "Overhead" Ha ha, I kill myself.)

We use a cheap electric yard blower and a step-ladder for the slides and awning. Also is handy for cleaning the pad.

I can't find an online link to it, but I have a nice extending ladder. I just pull it out to as high as I need it. It collapses down to about 35", extends to about 12'

I have one of those long handled squegee/sponges that pushes stuff off. Squegee and sponge works good for cleaning the front cap, too.

D and J,

Where do you lean the ladder? Can you send me a pic?

I'll pull it out of the basement tomorrow and take a picture or two, I lean it right up to the top of the slide.

Bruce,
We carry a 7' step-ladder. I've also seen one Rv'er that had one of those blowers with the extension that is used to blow-out gutters. Our blower was under $30 at WalMart.

Bruce,

I posted two pictures here ladder

but as of a few minutes ago, the pictures were still "pending site approval"

Home Depot was selling this lader for about 180 bucks, we got it on sale at a local Ace dealer for about 110 bucks, but Ace's website does not show this ladder in stack anymore.

I weigh close to 275, and to me it feels like the ladder could hold 100 pounds more than me with no problem.

Bruce,
We purchased a ladder similar to Doug's at Sam's several years ago and use it all the time. In the stow mode, it fits easily within the side chair compartment PI adds to some of their models. Extends to 12' and has rubber caps on the ladder ends to prevent damaging the RV. Here's a link to telecoping ladders

That is the one John! I love it!

Maybe I paid more than 110 for it, but I know I got it for less than Home depot wanted.

Gotta watch out not to pinch your fingers when colapsing it!!

Looks like that telescoping ladder is the way to go all right. Pricey, but I've had too many close calls with step ladders over the years on uneven ground.

$175 is some bucks, but my safety is priceless.

Funny how I like to jump out of airplanes at 15,000 feet, but still hate to get up on a roof..even with a parachute

Thanks for the ideas.

Those ladders are really nice. I'd never seen one before. I'm going to have to get one.

I could use it on the trailer I now have, and even use it around the house here in the next couple of years or so before I retire. Thanks for the info and photos/links!
