How do I best fix up this trim under the back of my trailer?

(Don't ask me why the pics came out as different sizes. Got tired of trying to fix this.)

The vinyl strip in the middle of the trim strip covers the screw heads. I don't want to bend the vinyl when I pull it off. Should I use some caulk when I tighten the screws? Just want to fix it the best way, to avoid problems in the future.

Thanks as always.

Mama is all you can do is fixed pictures??? This boy needs help fixin' his rig! Or are you like me and just an "arm chair" quarter back and just "talk" about fixin it!!

Bruce,
First explain to me what you did to cause this....is the metal or vinal messed up or damaged.

Other than that, I would suggest drilling new pilot holes in the foundation backing (wood) and simply reinstall. Really need more pix and better explaination of existing damage to the vinal and metal strip molding. Another words, what did you back over! rockintom

Bruce, the water droplet that is on the trim....is it there because the trim got wet or is it coming from within the panel?

If it's dry and the trim and vinyl insert got damaged, do as Rockin' suggested and drill new holes for the screws (or new ones as necessary) to fasten down the trim.

When you said..."Don't want to bent the vinyl when I pull it off". Not sure I understand? As you know, the insert is very pliable and easy to remove and install.

After removing the insert, pull it back and partly up the side wall and check the lower screws, at the corner, to see if the trim will pull closer to the fiberglass, do those first. Mine sticks out a little also but since your caulk/seal is broken, would be best to check. Remove the loose caulk and reapply.

Kewl, thanks for the info. I'll work on this repair on Tues, in the with some caulk.

RT - I don't know how I tore this lose. Just noticed it a few days ago. My guess, I towed the rig over a low stump or branch. I think the water just runs down the vertical trim and drips off this lose piece.
