Hi,

I have just ordered a new 2012 Wild Cargo W41GKE with full auto leveling system and rear H&H stabilizers. I have never had a hydraulic jacks before and was wondering if extra stabilizers like the JT’s Strong Arm Stabilizer system would be required? Your experiences with this would be much appreciated.

Rick

I have the 36GKM with hydraulic jacks and it is very stable. I do use a tripod under the hitch.

ARRET,
Thanks for the reply! I have a long fifth wheel now that I also use a tripod under the hitch. It has electric front and manual rear jacks. Even with RotoChoks and tripod we still get quite a bit of movement. The hydraulic system does look more stable and with six points on the ground hope there is not to much movement.

Rick, I just use the Hydraulic jacks most of the time. I also stop using the tripod. I did notice some rocking in high winds 30+mph. That's the only time I wish I had my tripod. I do use a wheel stablilzer some times. Depends on the how long I am going to be setting in one location.

With your rear H & H Stabilizers, you should be fine. I would not get anything extra until you get your rig and use it a few times.

Larry & Billie,

Thanks for the reply! The reason I'm looking for some experiences is because it may be possible to add these at the factory since Lippert Components sells to most manufactures. Good to hear that the hydraulics are stable.

Our rig is fairly stable.......I told that I'm not too stable!!!!

Is your rig got the "level up" Lippert system with 6 jacks? If so, that is stable as a rock as you can take the wheels off the ground with it. We have one on an SOB.

I not familiar with any other automatic level up system.... rockin'

rockin,

This is the auto level system from the limited models, I think it is a 4 jack setup. This from the 2011 info.

"Motorhome style fully automatic leveling system. Just push
the “Automatic Level” button and watch it work!"

I hope it is stable....we have two kids with us so movement in the coach is always noticeable.

The system you described is basically the same as ours......it is "fairly" stable, but not rock solid. Kids running around and playing in the rig will make it move a bit. Also drunk Excelers playing Wii boxing or bowling will also make it move!!! Ask me how I know!!!

Roto-choks inbetween the tires help and a pin stabilizer helps some too. I found the stablizer for the pin is a pain to carry around and the good ones, pinch the hell out of your hands. The six jack level-up is the only super solid system I know of...don't know of any JT type stabilizers for hydraulic jacks. Anyone? Rick, don't hesitate to jump in here and ask questions.....some of us here think we "Know It All" and if we don't.....we make stuff up....how I'm doin'??? rockin'

Rick, Since you mention the kids, I would get a tripod and a couple wheel stabililzers. That is going to be the best I think. This will be the cheapest. Anytime you have someone moving around a lot, you will feel some movement. Even our 5 little "South of the Border dogs" play pretty hard some times with each other, we see some movement, even with Washout in our rig. They just love something new to chew on. I'ts not real bad and I don't think anything about, until Washout starts to leak his OP out on the carpet.

This also a good question....the JT's would probably have to be mounted on the footpad. I didn't see any application for this but, probably could make something. I want to ditch the pin stabilizer if I can. the RotoChok's work great for front to back movement.
