Hydralift on used Excel

Good morning! It's been some time since we've posted, but things have changed for us and we plan to sell the house in the spring and full time!
We found a Excel RT 28 ft and plan to make the trek to go look at it. My question is this: it has a factory mounted hydralift which we have no use for. Does anyone have a clue what it might cost to remove it?
Thanks- Tom and Paula

It should be bolted or welded to the frame. Simple removal maybe a hour labor if you go to a shop. They havent built the RT in a while. Get a real good inspection looking for water damage and slide room floor rot. Think prior to 08 there were slide floor rot problems. Check for soft spots on inside slide floor and exterior slide bottoms. A ice pick works great for this. A strong musty smell is another give away to water damage.

Thanks, Chief. We were warned on this forum about rot when we checked out another RT in the spring, but hadn't considered an ice pick. I think stomping was mentioned as the test of choice, along with the sniff test.

Anyone have tips on how and where to check the frame for stress fractures related to the lift or is it a non-issue?

Thanks!

chief.....how 'bout pre '11 models for slide floor rot. A finger pushing on the slide floor ends is really all ya need. Usually first signs are the brown stains in the inside carpet (if you have carpet) on the ends of the slides.

It's very easy to remove the Hydralift.
Just drop the Hydralift down to the ground.
Disconnect the hydraulic line and the wiring.
Then unbolt the 4 bolts on each side that hold the clamps in place.
Slide the Hydralift away from the frame.

The brackets can be left in place.

Thanks, Pat and Michelle. We haven't seen the set up yet, but just assumed it was welded in place as a factory install. Sounds like a snap!

Used Hydralift

I might be interested in buying a used Hydralift. Please let me know if you're interested in selling it. Thanks.
