I have some questions about the hydraulic leveling system option. Excel owners that have it may be able to answer some and the factory may have to answer others.
1. Does it help in stabilizing the trailer?
2. Will it actually pick up the trailer?
3. Is it automatic or do you have to manually control each levelor?
4. Can they be used on a trailer with electric slides and front jacks?
5. Where are they located on the frame? (how far from the front and back?)
6. And finally, to the ones that have them, are they worth the money?
Thanks for the help.

In response to your questions about the hydraulic leveling system.

1. The leveling system does a GREAT job of stabilizing the unit.
2. In most cases the jacks will pick up the trailer however, our supplier will tell you that they are not made to do that.
3. They are not automatic. They operate with a pendant and each jack can be operated individually OR together with other jacks. The don't, however automatically level the trailer.
4. The hydraulic leveling system can only be optioned in if the slide out rooms are also hydraulic.
5. The front jacks are actually your main landing legs. The rear stabilizers are located within one foot of the rear tires.
6. I have them on my personal coach and I would never have another unit without them. They out-perform the electric systems by far.

Hope this helps.

Bryan

Unfinished 91,

If the hydraulic system is not a retrofit possibility what I have might be. When I ordered our coach I opted for the Atwood 4 motor leveling system. It has 4 independent jacks operated solely by a wireless remote control. So far, we have had "0" problems with it and it will lift the trailer up off of the springs which stabilizes it rock solid. In case of an electrical failure, each strut can be raised or lowered using a drill motor. Like Bryan, I would never have a coach without a leveling system. The Atwood is not automatic, but, using it, I can level the trailer within a minute or so even on an uneven parking spot. In fact, you can do it from inside. Once level, I raise all four the same amount to relive spring tension which stabilizes the coach. Just thought I would throw this at you as a possible alternative.
