I am going to instll a layer of the Eternabond sealant tape on the edges of the top of my slide rooms. I have been told to clean the surface where I am going to install the with alcohol and just put the tape in place and roll it securley to acative the bond.

Question is the the way to install the tape and does it come in differt mill thichness? and do I need to put the UV protective over the tape. Where is the best source to buy the tape??

I have had some water leackage in the large room back wall.

Dan

Make sure you put it exactly where you want it - You don't want to pull it back up and once down, it doesn't move. Haven't used it on our Excel, but used it on our Carri-lite where endcaps met the singleply roof. UV's didn't seem to effect it.

Dan,
I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended...just trying to be helpful... but are you sure that the area you are planning to cover is the location of your leak? I've not heard of anyone finding a leak problem there but we have heard of water seepage through the screw holes under the plastic insert in the molding around the outside edge of the slides at the top and bottom. Perhaps your situation is obvious and different and if so, I apologise.

Here is a good link with instructions on how to use eternabond tape. Eternabond Tape I have used the tape and it works great. The kit I bought at CW included a cleaning pad which you use to scuff up the area and then wipe or brush off. Apply the tape by laying it over the area to be taped and slowly pulling the protective clear plastic covering as you press the tape down. Use a wallpaper roller to seal down completely. Eternabond will stick to most anything except silicone sealers.
