As many of you know, Peterson Ind has offered disc brakes on our coaches for several years. Ford was the first to come out with an integrated brake controller.

In the early days, there were some compatibility issues with the electric/hydraulic accuator on the coach, and the Ford integrated controller. Ford and Dexter (the company we buy our system from) got those issued ironed out.

Now, we are finding that the 2008 GM integrated controller is not compatable with the Dexter system. I would assume that GM and Dexter will get those issues worked out as well.

Due to frequent changes by tow vehicle manufacturers, Peterson Industries and Dexter Axle cannot guarantee the compatability of integrated brake control systems with our disc brake option. To check compatibility, contact Dexter Axle at 574-295-7888

Thank you
Bryan Tillett

I have an 08 GMC 3500 with the brake controller. After talking to Dexter service dept., I was told to try installing one or two 12 inch magnets on the blue wire on the Dexter hydraulic disk brake actuator on the Excel RV. I tried that today and the disk brakes work perfectly. The Integrated Brake Controller is looking for some type of magnet on the actuator to react to.
