I just don't wanna pull all these lines and remove the pump, just to find free flowing water when I turn the city pressure on again.

Bruce,
I had the same experience as BigSkyBob, last winter. It sounds like you are planning to return the old pump and wait for Shurflo to send the replacement upon receipt. This is not the way to go. Talk to Joan at Shurflo (Jack Yenne at PI can give you her extension) and "buy" a new pump on your credit card. Shurflo will issue a credit back to you upon return.
What I'm trying to say is that we had no water service during the 1/2 hour or so it took to change out pumps. Therefor, no problem from city water pressure. City water was not connected. Pan and a towel should be fine to soak up the water.

Bruce, It has been a while since I dealt with a water pump but if I recall correctly I think if you were to buy two plugs and put them in the water lines that will stop any water leaks while waiting for th new pump. I think it is the same size as the water hose for the house.

Thanks Mr. NOT Working for the idea of plugging the hoses. But I think Jim is right. Git er done in one shot. Why bang my head on the ceiling twice...literally?
I spoke with Joan from Jack's recommendation. I think I will call her and order a pump. Then not worry about needing a pump while traveling.
Personally I keep a full tank of fresh water while staying in a park more than a few days. Good backup in case of a water emergency. NG without a pump.
Kewl. Thanks all.

I ordered pump. Hope it's the sensor, as the new pump costs $200+. OK to return if it's the switch. Maybe not if not.

A few days ago, I removed the old pump and installed the new one. Went OK, tho I had an air leak.
Today I adjusted the double O ring and clip connectors. Worked just fine. Left the water pump on in place of the city water to test.
Still working OK when we went out for a long walk and visit. Returned to a spinning pump, separated connector, empty tank, and well soaked basement. After an hour of jerking around with those connectors in that impossibly cramped util area, I have given up. No water pressure tonight. RV technician tomorrow if I'm lucky.
The same guy who spent an hour (so far) under my slide, trying to align the refrig LP line thru poorly drilled holes in the frame. Which PI will not fix unless I drag my trailer back to Kansas for the second time in 12 months.
The good news - the broken shower faucet doesn't leak now.
I've owned nine houses of various vintages in 30 years. I cannot remember spending this much time repairing any of them. Particularly the utilities. I guess you can tell that I am very discouraged right now.

Most of the time, it's the computer user. I'm not taking that on.

Wonder who's gonna help you with all your rig issues? Remember this goes both ways Brucie!
Ya know on my computer.....we made a correlation between my blue screen issue and Ms. Donna booting up her computer....no kidding. It's happened way too many times to be "fluke" or anomaly! What gives Mr. Bruce?

Tom,
You're an easy target. Not so my refrig and shower and water pump...
Back to the topic - knowlegeable technician connected the pump correctly. In addition to difficult access, the O rings on the fitting were worn. New fitting from the new pump kit fixed it.
Still wringing out gallons of water from my basement. Pulled out sopping insulation and blowing air into that space. Lucky for us, temps here have climbed to 100 degrees two days running. So lucky!
So thanks for your suggestions as always. BTW, this technician said that this upgraded Shurflo pump is more finicky than the standard one.

Glad you got it fixed. The tech is right, the SmartSensor Shurflo are real finicky! I'm still trying to figure out how you can hook it up incorrectly. But if it can be done.....just kiddin' I think even Virg could have done it!!!!
Should have had the guy fix the shower faucet and WH leak!!!! Or are you saving those for your visit to Portland???!!!

Dadgumya boy! Don't ya even remember that I pulled out my dryer and replaced the plastic gutted shower faucet control body myself with a brass gutted one from CampingWorld? Now, it is true that I only did it because we were parked in the backside of nowhere AND that I bitched every step of the way and I hated every single minute of it! But the shower faucet still don't leak down into the basement anymore!!! So quit pickin' on me, I'm far too sensitive!
Besides, I herd gators in the winter!!!
