Just One More Mixing Valve Story

So today we woke up to low flow and luke warm water on the side of all faucets. Cold was good. Tore out the totes in the basement and remove the mixing valve off the WH. Did the boiling out of the valve trick in the 4:1 ratio of white vinegar and water for about an hour. Working the adjuster back and forth every 15 minutes. Put it all back together and it works well. No real cost but lots of labor!!! This is my first issue with a mixing valve in all three of my Excels. Using a water softener sure helps cut down on the mineral deposits but I guess after 5.5 years it can finally happen. Like they say, when you own an RV, it's always something. rockin'

Borrowing from the old boat-saying,

"When you have a big RV, you have big problems. When you have a small RV, you still have big problems. When you have no RV, you'll never know what you're missing, when you're not having big problems."

When RVing, what you call that period of time between the big problems is "living life to its fullest."

Just a note: Our rig is at Doug's getting some of those big problems fixed.

Thanks Carl, those are some great sayings to live by! And the truth!

Care to share what you're having Doug's fix? I understand they have a lead tech over there that is awesome, Josh or Jason, I think. rockin'

Yes, Josh has fixed several of our problems in the past. One's that our selling dealer couldn't seem to fix on several attempts.

A bad control board in our gas furnace. Woke up in the morning, on a December trip to Kerrville, with the temperature in the trailer in the 40's.

Kitchen slide-out out of adjustment so bad the slide-out had difficulty retracting.

This time, its the ceiling separated in the bedroom closet next to the closet rod center support. The living room AC is not cooling, hoping just a bad capacitor. The living room exhaust fan stopped exhausting, replacing with a unit with manual and remote control. And a few minor tweaks and scheduled maintenance.

Nothing too major. Minor when compared to some S&B home repairs.

I like to tinker and work on stuff. However, my old bones and bad back won't let me get on the roof. If I fall, it better kill me, otherwise, there would be you-know-what to pay when the DW got finished with me, since I promised not to get on the roof. Making me promise was the only way she could keep me off the roof because I'm stubborn enough to try it anyway.

I do fix a lot of my stuff when I can. At this time, we only get 2 weeks of travel a year. Don't want to spend our travel time fixing stuff. Hard to work on trailer in the storage unit. Not enough room to spread out.

Have some ideas rattling around in the noggin to work on when we start "Summer-timin'" it in 2019. Writhing with anticipation.

IMHO please be sure too check that your outside shower faucets are off before tearing things apart. Happened to me once and when I finally realized outside shower was on. I shut it off problem was solved. Not sure what it is but seems I have heard of this before.
