I do feel for this guys pain.......but........If you read the post, you see he replaced the axles with greaseable bearings. Personally, I have had good luck with the Nev R Lube systems myself. My last rig had maybe 60,000 trouble free miles. The bearings has alot of meat to them.
I do suggest that you lift the axle assy up and rotate tires to check for roughness and proper end play (.050 on Nev R Lube). I did mine yesterday and it probably doesn't have 1500 miles on it. Also remember that ANY bearing could fail if it gets curbed and/or receive a side impact. A lot of factors have got to considered.......besides "well the bearing failed". rockin'

Nice link Tim, it was nice to see that everyone helped the man in any way they could. I feel that when a trailer is jack knifed and one is sliding those rear tires that that has to put a lot of stress on those hubs and bearings. I debated about not getting a full size pu when I bought mine. There are so many campgrounds that have such narrow streets and one almost has to jack knife your rig just to back in. I bet with a HDT it makes it more difficult not to jack knife. One time I rubbed the sidewall of my right rear tire against a curb and I had uneven tire wear and found out that I bent the axle.

Actually, I now find that parking is a lot easier with the HDT. The turning radius is less then my dually long bed was. I've pulled into some really tight places. Tom can vouch for the space I backed into in Alamo, TX last winter. It sure was tiny.

RockheadTommie, can you please clarify what you are talking about?
It is a lot of fun to back these big monsters. They almost make parking the Excels into playtime.
