This week we found ourselves in Bemidji, MN with an apparently dead Westinghouse TV. I called PI and spoke with Ed for warranty service. Due to current business conditions PI is understandably closely managing inventories and doesn't currently have a spare TV available for me. Ed asked that I call the distributor, Mito, for the TV in Elkhart and work the replacement directly through them.

Skipping ahead to yesterday morning, even with a most cooperative person at Mito, the best arrangement I could get was to dirve the TV down to a Brainer MN TV repair shop (nearest repair for LCD TV) for an estimate or to determine if replacement was necessary. Mito would replace or repair. Only problem is that Brainerd is 2 1/2 hours away and the repair guy estimates that it will be as much as two weeks before my TV is repaired, in the event repair is possible.

Frustrated, I call PI and leave a message for Jack explaining the situation and asking if there is anything he can suggest to save me from sitting around northern Minnesota waiting for a TV for the next two weeks. Within two hours Ed at PI Service calls and tells me that Jack is on vacation. However, Jack has picked up his voice mail and authorizes me a fair price to buy a replacement TV locally and to have it installed. Upon receiving the receipts Jack will see that I am reimbursed. This is great customer service, certainly more than I expected!

It was testimonials similar to this one that weighed heavily in our decision to buy our Excel.

Thanks again to the Team at PI. I have every confidence that they will successfully carry the company through these tough times for the RV industry.

We had an equally satisfying experience with PI and our TV last year.

TV no workie.

We realize that we don't watch TV so don't want a new one.

Donna at PI agreed to reimburse us a fair amount and we dropped off the TV at a dealer in Oregon.

Happy, happy, happy.

Ok Jim & Bona, Bruce and Jenna, it has been about one year. Is the TV working good or have you had any more problems with that brand?

Thanks Bruce, I have a year left with a warranty and was wondering if these Westinghouse TVs where holding up for folks. I don’t use mine much but maybe should have it on with the volume down so it gets some usage.

Maybe you could find that TV in Consumer Reports. They rate reliability based on subscribers' reports.
If you don't have ready access, send me the model number. I subscribe online, so can look it up easily.
