Just got the new unit home today, haven't had time yet to get acquainted with it, but went to move it to the other side of the yard and one landing gear doesn't want to work. Seems like it is jammed up, the extension won't slide up or down in the main mast, and the main mast won't retract? It will extend a short distance, but won't retract, any suggestions?
It has electric power but acts like a slip clutch is slipping, or clicking. I can only realize about 1 1/2 inch stroke before it quites?

Sounds like the land gear is bent or binding causing the clutch to rachet. Since it is new the dealer will probably replace the mid tube (gut pack) or the entire landing gear assy. What model of Excel did you get? You may want to include that info in your signature. Congrats on the new rig. HTH Tom

Agree with Tom, you've probably got a bent landing gear. Th extension not sliding freely up and down within the main mast is a good indication, along with the main mast not retracting. Tolerances between the various telescoping landing gear components are fairly close and it doesn't take much force to slightly bend one of the tubes.

One of our main landing gear motors quit working during our last trip and I was able to support the front of the coach on one landing jack. As a safety measure, as you raise the coach, place shoring under the inoperative landing gear.

Our coach went to the dealer for repairs yesterday.

Sorry for the delay in updating the status on my landing gear problem. We have been gone since May 12 and of all things, I forgot to take the laptop along so have been out of touch with everything. On returning I find PI sent a new jack assembly less motor, which we installed this AM and it solved the problem. However, FYI the replacement jack motor mount threads have been changed from sae thread to metric and you must now have 4ea M6 X 110mm bolts to mount the motor head on the jack. Of course UF didn't include them and finding them was a task, but we finally did and all is well.

I also got the washer installed this AM but will have to finish the dryer and that project next month as we are about to leave again. One of these times I'll get this L33RSE finished, stocked and start using it! Maybe by fall when life slows down a bit.

Ace,
Good to hear from you. I was thinking that you had abandoned us. Thanks for the update.
