I finally made it to this forum, Linda and Tom!

Hello everyone. We just joined the forum because we just ordered a Wild Cargo 41 GKE, which should be delivered near the end of August 2011.
We have been full-timing for 2 years and don't plan on going back to a house. This is way too much fun!
Summers in Alberta for work and winters in the sunny south, usually Las Vegas or Tucson.
Glad to be here.

Welcome aboard! This is our first trip out with our new Excel 35 GKE. Love it, love it, love it. Soooooo comfortable and roomy. My kitchen is efficient and easy to get around in. (Well, it sure beats all those years of cooking outdoors over an open fire in 40 degrees on a mountain somewhere in Colorado or New Mexico.) I'm thinking we could do this full-time someday----soon.

Hi, everyone. My husband and I are new to rving, and we just purchased a 2005 Alfa see ya gold. We know next to nothing about motorhomes and are very anxious to get started on our travels. We are studing the manual and trying to make sure we understand everything that we should know, but I have a question and hope someone can answer it. The air condioner is putting out just a very small amount of cool air allthough the fan is running on high. My husband thinks that the a/c may need to be recharged. Or does any one have any other ideas that might be caousing the problem.
Thanks to you all in advance.

Last entry on this introduction thread July of 2011!? Guess I might as well update that a bit!
Hello everyone! Tom here. Been 5th wheel shopping for about six months. New and used. I kept coming back to the Excel I now own. It is a few years old. 2006 model. 36BDO. Five slide outs and about every option available at the time. With a few minor exceptions, nearly new condition at a fraction of new price. For what I've been looking for it'll do me fine. Really like the rear kitchen floor plan, and seems to not be many out there like it.
I'll be using this old Excel nearly full time. Take her where ever my work takes me. Currently around North Texas, but could soon be St.Paul, Phoenix, Albuquerque, or Denver. With the climate extremes across those cities, it's kinda obvious why I chose this unit. Though I should be used to it by now, it still amazes me just how quite this "house" is. Like being shut into a vacuum bottle. Nearly all the outside world is just that. Of course may of you already know that......
I'll be coming to this forum from time to time. Hope to meet some of you here, and maybe one day in person!

Hey autohauler....good hearing from you. Welcome aboard. That 36 BDO is a nice floor plan. We hope you have great travels in your rig. Hope you got plenty of truck to haul that baby around. You may want to put your infomation on rig and truck in your signature for easy reference, and so we don't have to go to your profile.
Post often and let us know how it's going. I see you in Mesquite. I used to live in Ft. Worth and got to our training center in Garland so familiar with the area! rockin'

Well...... If ya want to get technical, my Super Duty Ford isn't factory rated to haul my Excel. however, I've done enough changes to this truck for a tow unit, it barely knows its loaded with that white elephant on her back. Also, I have well over 2.5 million miles under my belt running 18 wheeler auto carriers. I drive my Ford/Excel just like my Western Star/Cottrell..... That being "like grandpa's grandpa" slow and easy starts and stops, never above 65 mph. For now, until budget allows upgrading, my Ford will do me fine.
Now to take your advice and add the info to my sig.

I hear ya on the truck....Tug could stand to be updated too. A new 3500 would sure be nice, with all the added towing capacity, but don't feel like shelling 55-60K in this economic climate. We take it very slow and easy also. No need to rush. rockin'
