I thought it would be nice if we'd all introduce ourselves, so I'll start it off.

My husband, Earl, and I just ordered an Excel Classic 30RKE to be delivered mid-January. Some of the options we've ordered are the Thermo-pane windows, washer/dryer, King Suite, and Mor-Ryde suspension w/disc brakes.

We were fulltimers for 5 years before buying another house, but we've decided that we miss fulltiming, and have our house up for sale as well as our current RV (although we like our Lazy Daze a lot, it's too small for us to fulltime in).

Sure hopes this Excel forum takes off!

Great idea Linda -- thanks for bringing this forum idea to the forefront! I've been thinking about starting a forum for awhile and you gave me the push I needed. My DW Mariyn and I are semi-fulltimers as we are keeping our stick house. We're both retired and have two (spoiled) Bichon Frise girls, Sophie and Misha.

This is a great idea. I am still trying to figure out how to get things to work at this new site. It's very different from RV.net. At any rate, I am the Bob part of the Bob and Sharon Steele. Sharon currently is a full time care taker for her Dad who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. As a result of that, we sold our house here in Fort Worth and ordered our Excel. I keep it here in FW at Sunset RV Park and live in it during the week, plan to retire at the end of next year. We have a ranch with small house near Brownwood, TX and that is the area where Sharon and here dad are. That is also where we will hang our hat when I retire. We haven't had a chance to use the Excel much for traveling, but one day that will all change. I t is a great coach and I very much enjoy living in it during the week. Sure beats all the upkeep and work of the 3000 sq foot stick house and pool for one person. OK enough about us. I as the others hope this forum will be a huge success. All of us who are part of the Excel family know what a quality coach they are, perhaps we can now share that with those who are interested. If you are serious about a fifth wheel, you can't go wrong with an Excel.

Bob Steele,

I happened to see you and the DW are from Texas and as we here at iRV2 have a very strong regional "presence" in Texas, I wanted to personally send you an invitation to check out the South Central "regional" forum that is found HERE

Our Texas contingent consists of three regions within the State of Texas and they are a very active bunch, planning several get togethers throughout the year.

I'll show some geographic "ignorance" here, but just to give you an example, one of the groups is planning a Christmas event at Rayford's Crossing...

Having mentioned the Texas Boomers, I might also add there are indeed other regions of the U.S. that plan their own get togethers and I invite all the other Excel Owners to check out their respective regional areas as well.

We're all about our mission statement here at iRV2....

Our Mission: "Efficiently support the thoughtful exchange of knowledge, values and experiences among RV enthusiasts"

WELCOME to you all!!

Bob

My wife and I are new to the Excels. We took delivery of our L33RSE on Nov. 3. We are Tommy and Cherry Runnels. We live in Odessa, Texas. My wife retired from teaching 6th grade in May and I will Retire from Phillips Pipeline co. ( ConocoPhillips) in April. Our plans are to see how fast we can wear the tires out on the new Excel.

Eddie & Renee just signing up. Hope this Excel forum sticks. Looks promissing though. Love our Excel and plan on getting another when its time to upgrade. Currently at Normandy Farms in Foxboro Ma for the winter. We are both considered young to be fulltiming (both mid to late 30's)so we both still work in Boston, thats why we are here in the cold of the just starting New England winter. Last winter was our first in our Excel and it passed with flying colors.

take care,
Eddie

Thank you John, we will visit often. But John I would like you to re-think your tow vehicle, It seems to be a bit undersize and the wheelbase is just to short for your Excel!! LOL!! Nice rig!!!

Happy Thanksgiving
Eddie

Hi, we are long time Excel owners, we have had 6 of them over the years. Enjoy them very much. Our current unit is a 33RSE and we really like the floorplan. We are both retired, spend our winters in the south, and then just travel and camp for another 60 to 80 nights per year. We have attended 4 "family reunions" and enjoy them very much. Overall we have had pretty good luck with our units, but the service guys in Smith Center are great. We are past officers in the Iowa club and really enjoy those rallies.
