We had the issue of empty tanks and the level guage reading "Mediem". After reading about the cleaning ability of "Purple Power", I put 1 cup in a full tank, let it sit overnight and low and behold after emptying the tank the monitor showed "empty". Now we'll see how long it stays "normal".

Tim,
Things like that work for a little while, based on my experience, and then return to doing the same thing again. Especially with the black tank, I've learned to "hear" the sound of the tank when flushing and know when it needs flushing. Gauge isn't really nec. Guess it helps some on the grey...especially if you dry camp. I've never had any reading problems on the fresh. SirRockyKnowMySewerStuff!

Tom,
Do you listen for the "polap or the woop"? Which one has the lower tank level. My hearing just got tested and my upper frequencies are hindered and I refuse to get hearing aides because then DW will tell me to turn up the volume and I just might hear all the "honey do's" So I need to know what to "listen for".
I've never had problems with the black tank reading, only the grey I usually flush the black till clear. I'll report back on this in a couple of months. Hey, if this stuff works, I won't complain.

Just gotta remember not to forget to open the black handle when the flusher is hooked up and getting full! SirDumpy

We don't have a problem with the black tank...we have an automatic tank flusher and it works very well. In addition, we can tell when the black tank is getting full by the sound it makes when flushed...plus it starts "burping."
However, our gray tank is another matter. It's currently showing "Full" even when we've just dumped. Where can you buy this "Purple Power?" I'll try some if it's something I can buy at a store and don't have to order.
Why RV manufacturers don't put on the external tank sensors is beyond me. Sure they're a bit more expensive, but when you're paying as much for a rig as one pays for an Excel, what's a few more dollars?

Tim,
Kinda hard to explain....you know I'm not very good with words...has something to do with a lower IQ! It's something like when a glass of water starts gettin' full. The tone gets higher. When it starts burping on a flush...you are FULL (vent pipe - not venting)
On the grey...in the real world you can't get everything off the dishes and the "gunk" like grease, food particles, etc. get down there and coat the sensors for the readings. I've found a temporary fix for this is to put in 1/2 cup of Dawn dishwishing soap or the like, same amt. of Calgon water softener (even though we have a w/s) and a packet of blue toilet dump stuff, in the kitchen sink and put it in a 1/2 full or slightly less of water in the grey tank. Best if you can take your rig for a 100 miles trip to shake it up. Like I say this is a temporary repair. This is basically the "geo" method. I do this about once every 2 months. It works. Some people put bleach in, but I've not tried that. HTH RockyGreyHead

I just look at my SeeLevel gauges. Works "Great" always read correctly. No more Calgon and other chemicals pays for itself. Just trying to help!

Squirrelly Dude,
You're absolutely right...but most of us need more frustration in our lives....that's why we don't have the fancy setup like you....
BTW....got all your nuts stashed away for winter? You probably have a level gauge on then too! You are a fancy squirrel with lots of toys! SirWishedIHad!!

Now Tom, come on. I know you can afford $19.00 for that Gas Watch Gauge!! Just one happy hour would allow you to purchase it. You can then put it on the one tank your using and then switch it to the next. This way you wouldn't have to give up two happy-hours and buy two gauges. LOL LOL By the way Tom, you need to restock that oven with more nuts...how about some of those big ole' Texas pecans!!!
Thanks the Squirrel

Squirrel,
You are right...them there TX pecans is good. I thought I fed you good last time!
I don't need the watch dog gauge as my ol' buddy highgturn talked me into the Marshall switch over lamp, which tells ya when the tank switches over to the secondary tank with a flashing LED inside the rig. No more of that exhausting checking for the red indicator watching at the pressure regulator. I never wanted to get that far from the refer !!
