Made The Move - '15 Excel On Order

Years of research and shopping are over, we put a 2015 Limited 31IKE on order today. No more leveling boards, awning de-flappers, washing dishes or even lowering the shades by hand. We loaded up our dream coach, Bryan made all the changes and custom mods we asked for and PI with our dealer Fretz RV gave us a very nice deal. It will be great to move from observer/researcher to actual Excel owner here on the forum. We're pumped and made our first camping res down at wonderful Stonewall Jackson State Park in WVa as soon as we got home. Can't wait to hitch that new rig up and head out!

We ordered our Excel Winslow a year and a half ago. You will love the autoleveling system. MCD shades are fantastic. You will love your new Excel.

Options?

Glad to hear of your purchase!

We are a couple of steps behind you, but considering the exact same rig.
Can you share what options and customizing you had done?

Thanks!

We didn't hold back, after 13 years of RVing we had a very good idea of what would work for us. Goal one was anything that would take to work out of RVing. After that it was strictly we're tired of stayin at the Days Inn RV, we're booking the Ritz Carlton with this one or maybe the Four Seasons considering the -10 Guarantee.

31IKE w/ Enclosed Walk Through Bath
Glazed Maple Interior
Quad Door Refrigerator w/ Ice Maker
MCD Ultimate Remote Shades
Winegard Sat System DirectTV w/HD
Ducted 2nd AC
Heat Pumps on Both AC's (See the thread going on Cheap Heat)
Pivot EZ Sewer Hose
Reel EZ Water Hose
MorRyde IS w/Disc Brakes & 17.5"H Tires
Hitch
Full Auto Leveling System
Glide Ride Pin Box
Keyless Entry
40# LP Bottles
Integrated Brake Controller Box (compatibility for GM Brake Controller)
Fisher/Paykel Dishwasher
Deleted Sofa & Recliners (Going with our own stuff/style)
Deleted 2 Dining Chairs (Wish they had 2 folding to substitute)
Deleted wood for vinyl (Dog=scratches & no refinishing wood laminate)

Then some non standard options
Pre-wiring for solar system (system from my previous unit / dealer install)
Pre-wiring for back up camera (For BU Cam w/ Interface for factory nav)
Pre-wire for XM Radio Antenna (We'll wire an XM receiver to the stereo)
Plexiglass Storm Screen Door (Saw these on other coach and liked it)
Solid Bedroom & Bath Doors (Veneer no glass - light sleeping wife quieter)
Handrail Hall Steps (No tripping up my golden years)
Solid Entry Door (Never liked glass & no shade/got storm door/security)
Garbage Disposer & Grey Tank Flush (Must for wife we'll see how it goes)
Exterior Speakers
Slight adjustment of pantry cabinet and island position for our furniture
Out-swing right hinge hall bath door (with the bedroom bath door you'll use this one coming from below)

Did I leave anything out??
We'll probably come up with a couple more things given time to think about it. My wife already has short list, I'm afraid to look just yet.

2015 model changes?

Thanks for sharing your list, sounds like a great unit!

I chatted a bit with Bryan and he did tell me that the 2015's were coming out. He highlighted the new wiring scheme (sorry I forget the name, but can control multiple items from each switch)?

What are the other changes for your 2015 Limited vs the 2014's? So far, I don't see info on the website.

Thanks again for anything you can share,

BTW, not sure if this should go on a separate thread?? Sorry, not sure about the policy on the forum about such things...

As far as I know or remember for '15 it's

New Counters - Lighter Color Counter
New Backsplash - Possibly Stainless Backsplash
LED Lighting with the multi wiring
Padded Dining Chair Back
Padded Headboard
MCD Manual Shades Std
Central Vac System Std
LED Awning Light

There might be something I've forgotten

I remembered on more '15 addition. The big pantry is now top and bottom doors with a pull out counter between the two.

Greetings to the wild and crazy bunch of Excelerss you're getting hooked up with; present company included. Looks like you've tagged all the options.

Only thing I'd forego/delete is the ezReel for the water hose. More trouble than its worth I've read. And you'll love the MCD shades. I'm an expert at cleaning them too. Did ours yesterday with alcohol (the rubbing type Rockin), vinegar and water. They look like new.

They call me Sarge (aka Beth).

I agree with Sarge. Skip the hose reel. More problems than it's worth. I carry a 3', 6', 10' and 20' hoses. I use the shortest combo to do the job. I use a Watts high flow water regulator (home style) and whole house filter before the camper. Most of the time the 3' from bib to filter and 10' from filter is all I need. The hoses and filter fits in a 10 gallon milk crate.
