Yesterday when using the microwave, sparks and fire seemed to be coming from the metal plate on the upper inside wall. I turned it off, waited a minute & tried again with same results. Haven't used it since. I am afraid of burning the whole trailer up.

Has anyone else experienced this?? Can it be fixed or will it have to be replaced.

Don't use it until you read your owners manual. You may have to have it serviced. I'll check my owners manual after supper and get back with more info later this evening.

After looking at my owners manual, all it stated was to make sure that you are not using anything metal in the microwave. Use microwaveable dishes, no twist ties, metal pans, etc. So this would be the same as all microwaves have since the beginning of time.

If it's sparking else where, I would call the manufacture of the microwave or look them on the Internet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the web article. The wave plate is exactly where the sparks come from. Will probably replace it as it seems to have a hole in it.

Woo-Hoo!! Removed the wave plate & cleaned it. Replaced it and behold...no sparks. When we got it out & held it to the light there was not a hole. When we first used it after replacing it there was a little spot that glowed briefly. Plan to only use the microwave while watching it closely & am ordering a replacement wave plate. Brand is Dometic. Thanks to all of you for your help. Barb
