My drawers are too tight

Anyone having having problems with the dresser drawers at the end of the bed? DW complained enough that I finally took a look. Problem was that the lower two drawers on the right side got very hard to close for the last 2 or so inches. The top drawer on that side was fine. In investigating I noticed that these 2 bottom drawer glides were slanting inward at the rear (in other words the distance between each drawer's glides was further at the front than rear, about 1/4 inch) The top glide was straight. In further investigating I noticed that a notch had been cut out of the brace at the rear of the top drawer on the right and not the bottom two. I used a box blade and wood chisel to notch the bottom 2 and it works fine now.
If you have need to make this repair be careful. I was surprised to see that the insulated wall had been cut out behind the dresser and you were dealing with the inside of the skin as the inside wall.

I replaced the drawer slides on a couple of mine with ones from Lowe's and it really helps. Will do some more before long.

Th dresser drawers opertate fully and smoothly on my 2013 Excel Winslow.

I recently pulled out the dresser drawers to see how to run some additional wiring. There is no rear wall panel but there is a reflective barrier. I did not pull the reflective barrier to determine if there is insulation between that and the outer wall. I would think there would be.

I look forward to the $marta$$ comments from RT about the title of this thread....

Mine are too loose. I close them and they come open when I'm not looking. I complain too but so far, has gotten me nowhere.

The reflective barrier is all there is.

What are the chances that RT won't respond? I kinda thought he might be too shy.

If we are lucky the Seal Team takes care of him today.

when we bought our last cabinets (kitchen & bath) in our S&B the drawer glides were punched and pressed steel with nylon rollers. They were horrible. (Kraftmaid? cabinets) We complained and a company rep. came out and swapped out all the drawer glides with roller bearing glides at no cost. What a complete difference. We didn't even know ball bearing glides were an available option, we probably would have bought them if we had known.
