Hi all,

We picked up our new rig about two weeks ago, and today headed out of our seasonal site for points south this winter.

We are stopping at Smith Center to tour the plant, and are looking for a park we could stay in for a few days until we can get our mail forwarded. We have some stuff that we need to get, so will stay until it arrives.

With that being said, the only park I found on the internet is Sunset Park--and that phone # is no longer working. We are looking for a cheap rate, (we use passport america when we can) but they have nothing listed. So any help from those of you who have been there?

Thanks in advance.

Since you just purchased a brand new Excel, I believe that if you call Bryan he will let you plug in at the service center or south of the plant. When we purchased ours, we left for Smith Center right from the dealers lot. They let us plug in by the plant.

Sunset Park may be closed for the season. I believe they are the only park in the general area.

Taking a tour is certainly time well spent. We enjoyed it a lot!

For once SKA has an answer!! Sunset RV Park number is now the owners home # which is 785 282-6062. Randy and Sharon Meyer. I don't know if they are still open but you can call and find out. They disconnected the park # over a year ago. There have only about 12-13 sites but most are pull thrus. Nothing fancy - 30 amp. Very muddy if it rains. Last time I checked it was $15.00 a nite. Checks or cash only. The owner's house is on the property. Nice and easy going folks. I can give you more details if you stay there. Let me know.

And as CG says you can stay at the Serv-Center. I have had our mail sent to PI. Just make arrangements ahead of time with Marsha in the main office.
If you do park in the service area and you come in on a Sat or Sun. park in the higher # stalls like # 10 as they are more unlikely to use that stall on Monday AM and you won't have to move. Check and see...some of the stalls have 50 amp.
They have dumps inside the shop. Only stall #1 and 2 have water. Hope this helps. Breakfast is good at the "Second Cup" downtown and cheap. Jiffyburger is good and cheap within walking distance of PI going east. Duffy's downtown is pretty fair for evening meals. Some like their prime rib. Other than that there ain't nothing going on in this sleepy little town.......ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz....Nice folks though. Let me know what you decide to do and I'll get you more detailed info. rockinandanal

Thanks

No heat last night--furnace won't come on. Talked with Jack and he said we can hook up there. So hopefully they can get us warm for tonight. We also will have the mail go there and stay in town until we get it.
