Hi sorry in advance. I just purchased a 99 30 ft rear linging room with 2 slides from a dealer in the state here.it looks like a well built unit but is in used condition . I will be picking it up in a couple weeks, and am sure I will be asking ALOT of questions. the biggest issue I have noticed on Excels is the storage doors out side ,are thick but not so sturdy . Is there a way to fix these without replaceing? the outside ring seems to detatch from the door

Hi White and welcome to the forum! We all have lots of questions when starting out. Regarding your question on compartment and storage doors, look at our resident expert Workshop's threads at the top of the forum which is "Restoration 101" page 1 regarding those doors. Chris is a super "fixer upper" and actually rebuilt his doors. If you're not that handy they will have to be replaced as they were an issue. They changed the door design about late year '05 and went to a different design which appears to me to be much better. Again welcome and hope to hear from you again real soon. Tom

P.S. Might suggest you add your Excel model info to your signature for easy reference for all viewing.

Welcome Steve -- took care of the first piece of business for a 'new member', added your distinctive member's title. We're neighbors, I'm across the river from you. Chris, 'WorkShop', is our restoration expert and "has been there and done that" with many of the issues you may encounter.

We're looking forward to updates (pictures) of your progress and please don't be a stranger on the forum. iRV2.com has a wealth of information for the novice or seasoned RV'er.
John

Also Welcome Steve to the Forum.

I'm sure I have been given more credit than is due...Half of what I know I learned from RockinTom and the other half from my DW. Things I come arcoss I don't understand I keep working at it till I get it right.

Any way I can help...please ask.
