Hi,

More fun in a new trailer. Cookies on the horizon...better light the oven. I turn and push to light the pilot - no go. No flame. Finally, craving those cookies, I light the pilot with a match - OK.

The stove top lights just fine with the bzzz bzzz sparker But no spark in the oven.

after the cookies.

In our 2007 L33RSE, you have to use a match to light the oven. I think that is the way it is supposed to be.

Hope the cookie were good. On my unit with an Atwood, have to use a match for the oven also.

It's just too hard to believe that the oven pilot does not have an igniter, since the stove top does.

Does anybody have the owner's manual? I don't...well, maybe I do, but

B&J,

The oven pilot has to be lit manually! The owner manual has the info in it.

First put the control to "pilot on" and then light the pilot which is on the left rear of the oven burner (as you look at it). Let the pilot run for a minute to warm the thermocoupler. Then you can turn to the control to the desired temp. I personally watch to make sure the burner lights OK.

Just FYI.....when the oven gets to the desired temp the burner flame will go out, but the pilot stays lit until the temp drops and then relights by itself. However, if you turn off the control valve off then a relighting of pilot is necessary! HTH Tom

Couple of sites to look at: no troubleshooting necessary for your pilot, but contains interesting videos and operating info.
Atwood troubleshoot with video and Atwood appliance

Hope something helped.

Manually? You're kidding! I spent top dollar for this coach and Ha ha. Just kidding.

No really! Why should I hitch up and disconnect by hand? I shouldn't get my fingers dirty! They should include a hydralic hitcher thinger with this trailer.

And another thing...

I asked the stove/oven guru's at the 2000 reunion about the same problem & was told that safety was the main reason for not being able to light the oven with the sparker. They didn't want a bunch of gas building up in a closed oven. If you have to have the oven open to light the burner there is less chance of getting your eyebrows and other vital body parts singed.

Bruce and Jenna,
Thought about your question when I saw this post on Escapees.com concerning lighting ovens manually.

Thanks Chief. I even have one of those long nose butane lighters but had forgotten about it. Think I'll try a tile in the oven too. I'm still a few pounds under my GCWR.

Then there's the question of my convection oven, but that's another discussion.
