Norcold door
A year or so ago I replaced the lower hinge on my Norcold refrigerator with the manufacturer's upgrade which would correct the problem some units were having with the door falling off.
This morning I noticed that I was not hearing the familiar click of the latch engaging when I closed the refer door. Checking further I found that the latch on the door was actually lower than hole in the striker plate so I added a couple of washers for bushings on the lower hinge which appears to have solved the problem.
What I can't figure out is why it happened in the first place. Everything appears to be ok.

Gary, I sent you an email before I saw this post. My Norcold did exactly the same thing. I think it's just wear of the lower hinge. You said you used a washer as a bushing, but I think you meant as a shim. I used a 9MM flat washer and it fit perfectly. Enough for now.

Gary,
I ordered that lower hinge kit right after you described it to me at Chociti Lake last year. Thanks for this heads up note, I'll keep on eye on it.
