One of a Kind Excel

Ran across this ad on RV Trader. Interesting setup to say the least. A bumper pull Wild Cargo Toyhauler. Looks like it's got all the bells and whistles, with a 5500 Genset, W/D and much more. Wonder how it tows loaded up? Strange and surely different. Check it out here. Bryan, what say you?

I was working a show in Dallas and this customer caught me at a weak moment. This order took a couple of months to consummate and started out as a Wild Cargo 5th wheel.

It truly was one of a kind. It ended up TOTALLY custom (obviously) LOL
At the time, I was doing anything I could to hold the company together. That probably wasn't one of my better decisions. As a trailer/toyhauler it is fine but we certainly didn't build it at a profit!

Thanks for the input Bryan. Wonder if it was interesting to tow? Wonder why they traded it in or put it up for sale?

Can relate to that. Shortly after we bought our 2013 EXCEL, the DW was offered a newly created position of Web Developer and her workload increased tremendously. Instead of traveling at least once a month, we go on one two week out of state trip a year and maybe a few days locally during Christmas. Not enough free time for a weekend trip. One thing about not using the trailer much and storing it in an enclosed unit, it still looks new.

She retires the end of the year and I hope to drive the wheels off the trailer. And Bryan, if we decide to upgrade, I'll be calling you.

Hope someone that buys this unique Excel will use it well. We're headed out this summer with our '07 30RSO for 160 days of adventure. Just added 1,050 watts of solar for our boondocking on this trip.

I wonder if a one ton dually is adequate to tow that thing. It just looks heavy. I don't have any experience with a travel trailer but I guess with a good weight distributing hitch it would be doable.

When we sold our motorhome in 2012 the dealer that did it for us on a consignment had a beautiful one or two year old Excel travel trailer on his lot. I actually considered it because we would have saved a lot of money over buying our Winslow but just had a hard time warming up to bumper pull.

I remember giving Bryan a call and telling him that my DW wife liked the Limited 36GKE but the only problem was it didn't have a garage. He said let me see what I can do and a few days later emailed me a plan with a garage on the the back...the 41GKE was born. Even though it wasn't called a Limited it did come out with Limited graphics and interior. Those were good days.

I do agree that it looks heavy for a tandem axle setup. I replaced my 7K axles with 8K last year when I weighed the unit with my side by side in the back and weighed 23,600 lbs.
