I immediately let our dealer know about it with pictures. We dropped the trailer off to the dealer in November for this and other warranty issues. I just received a phone call from the dealer that Peterson Ind. would not cover this under warranty as stabilizer jacks should not bend and it must have been due to improper usage. I have been camping for 40+ years and do kinda know what I am doing. I contacted Peterson Ind. and was told by the service guy that their policy is "they will not cover items that they do not manufacture once the dealer receives the unit and confirms every thing is ok." I have never heard of such crap. I have tried to contact Bryan Tillett, who was at the show and was instrumental in our purchase, however, he has not returned my phone call. I don't know what this rant will accomplish, just wanted to vent and let everyone know how well a $70,000 trailer is covered under warranty.

The dealer is supposed to be contacting Lippert to see what they will say, but I would think Peterson Ind. would make good on this and they would deal with Lippert. Just my thoughts.!
I purchased a new Excel TT last August. I have had some warranty work done on it and Excel has been outstanding with there service. I was at The factory and also Fretz Rv in Pa. Brian has always gotten back to me or had Jack call me. I do have 2 questions, how much air are we supposed to run in our tires? 80 pound max is on the sidewall and also concerning the battery. I store my RV in my Garage when we r not camping. I keep it plugged into my 50 amp Socket. Is this ok or should I turn off the battery disconnect switch?

Welcome to the forum Donny!!! Please come in and post anytime as we have lots of fun and usually help one other out with questions and concerns.

Regarding the tire pressure, I personally would stay very near the max pressure listed on the sidewall. The key tire success in my opinion is check air pressure on each trip. Low tire pressure can really put a dampner on your camping trip due to an unnecessary tire failure.

The battery issue is one that has two sides to it. Ideally, you can leave the battery disconnect in the "on" position when letting your trailer set for a longer period of time and connected to shore power. The new charging systems in the converters have a "charge wizard" when cuts way down on the charging rate after the battery(ies) are fully charged. This prevents the excess water usage and overheating of the batts.

Some folks still like to have the battery disconnect "off" under the same set of circumstances. They want to control when the batts get charged....and that's OK. But there are a few things to consider when the battery disconnect switch is "off".

*if you loose shore power for any reason, the 12V system shuts off. The refer will then quit working, also the furnace will not function.
Also if you have hydraulic slides, the slide hydraulic pump with take more amperage than the converter can handle without the batts connected in the system and you'll hear clicking noise when you attept to move a slide in or out.

This info may be more than you wanted to know, but I wanted you to know about these things to help you from making mistakes unnecessarily. rockin'
