This winter I noticed that some SOBs had a shroud on the king pin box.
It kind of got my attention not that everyone has nose and should not be proud of it, but the shroud got me thinking. How many times do I touch up scratches and remove bird nests from my pin box. I did a search today and the only one I found is made by and for Lippert. I called Demco this afternoon and they are very interested in looking into a shroud to cover their pin box. I am hoping early summer if they make one or that some other parts supplier starts manufacturing one that will fit mine.

Looks like a good deal. We repainted our pinbox, which came from our 2001 Excel (since it has the gooseneck adapter on it). In checking into getting a 5w hitch I want to replace the pinbox as our old one has holes drilled into it for the adapter. One or the other will be air cushioned, but the 5w hitches require a source of air making it more complicated than I first thought.

I looked for one recently after seeing the same cover. Came to nothing too. I've seen towels wrapped around em' (classy) and custom made canvas covers (forget it).

Ooop. Decimal point on the wrong side of the numbers.
I believe that one only fits the Lippert. Which is probably what you meant by "made by and for Lippert."

I have the same shroud on my 2010 Heartland Sundance, and it does look nice, and does help in that you don't have to paint your pinbox. However, it does not keep the birds from building nests because the back is still open.

We've never had birds nest in the pinbox....plenty making nest on the ladder in the back, and in the arms of the awning. Now, we only stay at parks that forbid birds in their park!!!!
Seriously, I think some folks use that plastic boundry mesh-like material and wad it up and stuff it up in the pinbox.

A white plastic cover to hide a black steel pin box? I think somebody has too much time on their hands.

Yeah. Just paint the pin box white and you have the best of both worlds!
Plus you'll reduce the heat gain that radiates into the bedroom and makes you think you have hot flashes!!
