Please refresh my 'old' memory, what is the recommended hitch height for an Excel Limited -- If remember correctly, it's between 45-47 inches. Getting ready to mount my RV 5th wheel hitch to 'Semi-Suite' and want to make sure I get it right.
Thanks,
John

John,
I'm at about 50 on Overkill and am 3" too high. I think 47 would nail it.

Before you ask, I set it at 47" but forgot to air it up. Can't wait for RockheadTommie to stop by and call me a "dumby"!!!

Virg -- we all expect to be corrected or otherwise 'upstaged' by SKIA!!

I'm going to go with a 45" height to the pin baseplate. My thoughts are to mount the hitch on a 1" steel plate (34"W x24"L) placed between the frame rails, using the hitch mounting rails. The extra weigh of the steel plate will make 'Semi-Suite' handle better and the hitch will be mounted as far to the rear as possible to improve tracking.

John, Mine is 46". But I have a low profile Trailorsaver. with a Trailair pin box.

Virgil, dont worry about SKIA, he's been on my case about showing him up here lately.

Speaking of SKIA -- I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in with his opinion??

John,
In addition to my 1" steel plate, I also had them add 650lbs of rolled steel under the frame behind the rear axle. REALLY helped the bobtail ride.

Regarding SKIA, he may need help signing in to the new system.

Ditto Virg, I'll be adding a 1" steel, 30"W, 24"L bumper that will drop down from the hitch steel plate and will have lights and a 2 1/2 hitch receiver. I want the majority of the pin weight to be behind my rear axle. Visting my fabricator tomorrow for an estimate.

'Rockin' must be sick or Ms Donna is being extra nice to him this AM
