I have to ask ...I have never been to QZ in January - but I have been told it is a big deal. How many of you will be in Quartzsite in January?

Hi Becky, we were planning on being in Brenda, which is a short hop to QZ, for the tent event. But I'm not sure when that is this year. It was a blast last year. Did you get your slide seal replaced in good order?

We've spent the last 4 or 5 years in Quartzsite during the winter (the entire winter, not just January). We're currently here until the end of December, but aren't planning on being here in January this year.

The 26th annual Quartzsite Sports, Vacation and RV Show will be held January 17th - 25th. Here's a list of all the 2008-2009 Quartzsite shows.

Beaudry RV is, apparently, not going to be here this year, or if they are, they're going to have a much smaller presence that previously. The north side of Kuehn Road across from Rice Ranch, which Beaudry bought/leased (I'm not sure which) is now pretty much filling up with vendors.

It'll be interesting to see whether or not LaMesa will bring any RVs over this year, too. Currently, their lot is empty, but I don't think they usually start bringing in RVs until sometime in December.

The guy who owns the Big Tent says that he currently is only about 30% booked for vendors whereas, in the past at this time of year, he's been 70% booked (those numbers may not be exact). Quartzsite has apparently raised the rents for vendors so much that many of them are pulling out. Someone told us that the powers that be in Q want to get rid of all the RVs here in the winter and are hoping to make this a bedroom community for Phoenix with a rail line between here and there. Yea, like that's ever going to happen! Not in my lifetime, anyway! (Don't know how true this is...rumors are always circulating and it's hard to know which ones are even close to the truth.)
