We are newbies who will be fulltiming from day one and would like some input on factory options that we should consider for fulltiming.
Thanks

Hi there,
I would suggest that you read the thread on "Product improvement suggestions"here. There are alot of good suggestions there that I wouldn't have thought of when we ordered our 36RDO and are worth considering from people who "have been there...done that" in their Excels. Some of them are things that Bryan says they can do but you may not find on an option list (we didn't see them on there) but if you will be full-timing, some of the cosmetic options may be worthy of consideration because in the long haul it will make a difference. I'm sure others will pipe in with great info...Good Luck to you.

For me, Bryan would not be the limiting factor if I were starting to design a fulltime coach from scratch, the limiting factor would be my pocketbook. There are so many things "standard" on the "Limited" Excels that I would like to have. Still wonder why they call it a "Limited"..anyway, here is my list of "stuff" I would like to have on my toyhauler.
I would ask for the molded fiberglass roof and one of the limited interiors,
a fuel storage tank in the rear
Big Foot style levelers.
Those corner "braces" that stop the trailer wiggle
Washer and separate dryer
Satellite receiver
The largest RV refrigerator available
custom cabinets in the garage including filing drawers for record storage
combination desk/dining table
dual ducted AC's
convection/microwave
17.5" rims and H rated tires
Pergo harwood flooring throughout living quarters (NO CARPET)
Bomber jacket leather couch built to my wife's spec's
One custom built recliner and ottoman in matching bomber jacket leather (for me)
prewired for wifi and external cellular antenna with amplifier
Bedroom TV
32" flatscreen HD Plasma (or maybe LCD)
Fireplace
Padded ceiling
thermo pane windows
Wholehouse water filter
weathershield awning
I hope others will stop by and add to the list for this special built Wild Cargo and maybe you can get some ideas from my dream list of wants.

The 'wish list' that Virg posted would certainly make an already outstanding Excel top of it's class. I would add, since Virg is paying for these upgrades: generator, A/C with heat pumps, and full-body paint. I'm 'dreaming' , but ain't it fun when its someone else's money!!

Make sure you add Disk Brakes to your list. I wouldn't do without them after having them.

Hello Sedonacouple & welcome let me share our expercience with us ordering a new 08 33TKE limited. First of all Peterson Industries was the only manufacture to do the updrages we wanted. We worked with Bryan then his sales rep. Steven and Bob Spack from Fritz's Rv in Pa to put the deal together though emails as I live in northern alberta Canada. We had Laminate in the living area( no carpet) all overhead cupboards had dividers installed, a really neat swingaway cupboard in the kitchen for extra storage, extra electrial plugs in the kitchen, over the outside door & in the under floor storage. We had my rear camera cable installed in the roof along with my sat. radio antenna, that was it for our added upgrades our options are as follows. Disk brakes with 17.5 inch tires are a must (without the Mor/ryde susp. option) Glide ride pin box,Hyd level jacks,Camper jacket,EZ reel water hose & EZ pivot sewer hose, Thermopane windows (a must) Padded ceiling,Fireplace,Electric awning, slide out tray,2 stage furance, water filter.I picked the trailer up last year in PA. & so far just love the unit & (everybody else who sees it)I hope this helps you out maybe we see you at the Family reunion in May

OK... I am the "ad-hoc" moderator for this group ... and please understand that I do not own an Excel - but I have been in at least one! The things I did not X is because I do not or have not had first hand knowledge! Peterson Industries will make your traveling dreams come true - so just ask ...and it will be done if it is possible!!!

If I can spend your money, I'd definitely put 4 panel solar on it.

Recognizing that everyone has their own needs and preferences, here's our list: - Slide out storage tray in basement. Really handy and saves crawling into the basement.
- Steel generator box. We didn't get the generator nor are we pre-wired for a generator. This dealer recommendation makes a nice wall in the basement to divide it into two compartments.
- Camper jacket. We only use it on lengthy gravel roads. Glad we have it then.
- Reel-EZ Hose Reel. Didn't like it at first. Now happy to have it.
- Disk brakes and Mor-Ryde IS Suspension.
- Cherry stained maple woodwork. Pricey but worth it to us.
- Whirlpool stacked washer and dryer. Probably not economic when compared to laundromats, but really handy.
- Thermopane windows. Must have for noise and heat insulation.
- Heat pump in lieu of Air Con. Not sure about this one. Wind noise is something else. Might try a couple of Pelonis heaters instead.
- Self-leveling hydraulic jacks. Must have.
- Electric stabilizers on rear. Really do the job when the washer is on spin cycle. (But you're still in a trailer and you'll feel the washer.)
- 10 cubic ft. refrigerator. The right size for us. Much better that 8 cf and half the cost of a 12 cf.
- Two speed furnace. Low speed is nice and quiet. Maintains temp well.
- Whole house water filter.
- Winegard Movin' View satellite antenna.
- Weathershield two step awning.
- Whole house water filter.
- Pivot-EZ sewer hose. Oh yeah!
- Padded ceiling. Noise control.
- Sliding LP trays.
- Central vacuum system. It's not a toy.
- Glide Ride pin box.
- Deleted the standard two recliners. Use one rocking chair and have much more room.
- 40# LP tanks in lieu of 30#
- Four Lifeline Group 27 AGM batteries. Added after delivery.
- Progressive Industries Electrical Management System (50 amp hard wired). Added after delivery.
- Xantrex Prosine 2000 Inverter. Added after delivery.
- Would like a good solar system but the spending hax to stop somewhere. We use a Honda 2000 generator/inverter to top off the batteries.
Like I said, everyone has their own set of needs/priorities. We're happy with the options we selected and have no regrets. You've made the right choice on the biggest decision - to buy an Excel. You won't be disappointed. Peterson will take care of you. We know.
Enjoy the adventure!

Nice job Jim and Bona...we are in the same general ballpark with our wants and musts.
If I win the lottery I'd also like to add that full body paint. Dark gray with charcoal and black stripes. OF course I would have to get Overkill painted to match.

Virg,
If you were to order your dream Excel, with "full-body paint", Bryan would probably paint 'Overkill' to match!

I have always thought with the flat screen televisions that it would be awesome to have one mounted on the ceiling! That way I could be comfortable, instead of always trying to get comfortable to the TV when watching. And of course I’d want surround sound installed in the bedroom too.

We ran across a "show" model that's in our signature block and has a lot of the options that are mentioned above. I, too, recommend that you scan the forum and see what others are saying not only about the options, but about the reliability of those options. We have the MorRyde IS, but I can tell you that Bryan believes they build more reliable springs that ride just as good as the MorRyde IS.
Like the F450, we can tell you a lot more after next week.
Davy "gettin' nervous" dee
