I have a couple of questions about the Reel Ez. Is it simpley a place to store hose or does it provide a connection to the water system too? I was also wondering how much hose it can handle. Thanks in advance.

Well, we haven't used ours, yet, but it looks like about 25 ft of hose and is connected to water. One thing I took away from the demonstration was that you didn't have to roll the hose completely out to use it. David

Hello when I was placing my order for my new 33TKE last year at first I omit that hose reel option but in end I ordered it & I am glad I did it holds about 25 feet of hose & you don;t need to unroll it all out to use it save space as well.

B2,
The reel when stowed, is in the basement area and has the heat in there to keep it from freezing. The pic you see in the previous post shows it in the open position so you can unreel the hose for use! RockinTheEZReelKingpin!

Davydee, Then please explain to me these things. First are you using the same water port that I am? Second if not, is it fastened into the EZ Reel some where? If you check this you will see that I can coil things very tight and probably tighter than an EZ Reel, and that is one of the reasons I did not ponder it for an option.

Rockin, I am referring to when using. Book2

Hello I don't know about if it freezes I put my unit away for the winter after I winterized it but if I was going to use the unit in cold weather I would winterize the reel & not use it

I don't know what happened to my response to this question. I replied, then clicked "Post Now" and it disappeared into blog-ivian. The Reel-EZ is one of my favorite options. It compliments the Pivot-EZ nicely. I like most that it keeps the utility side of the coach clutter free.

However, the Reel-EZ is not meant to be used in sub-freezing weather. When we install the Reel-EZ, we also include a conventional city water hook-up. When the weather is below freezing, one should use the conventional hook-up and wrap your hose in heat tape from the coach to the hydrant. The Reel-EZ compartment WILL FREEZE.

Hope this helps.

Bryan

Thanks Bryan, I couldn't remember if the coach still had the conventional water hook up or not. Since my rig is an antique now and the E-Z Reel wasn't available way back then!

I can't recall (and I doubt it's the same conection that you'd be using). Will check Tuesday when we transfer what's in our current trailer into the Excel & let you know. David
