On my unit it is for the Hot Water Heater. When the heater guits on gas for some reason or fails to light...the reset light comes on. Try turning it off and then back on. This will reset the board. BUT first drop the cover/outside door and take a look to ensure alls ok.

Thanks. It was the water heater and it was on gas at the time. When we noticed we were out of hot water we shut the gas switch off and turned on the electric. I had turned the gas valve to the other tank to remove the empty tank for filling. Maybe thet caused the hot water gas line to drop in pressure and cause the reset to come on. Our electric is 15 cents a kilawatt here and I'm told it would be cheaper to run the frig and water heater on gas ( at $16,50 per 30 lb bottle) Is that true? Thanks much for responding. Farminatr

Farminatr,

My unofficial studies indicate that if you are paying .15/KWH for electric it is cheaper to use propane if you are paying under $20.00 per 30# bottle. I will be interested in see other responses.

The propane water heater will try to light 3 times (just like the furnace) then set a reset light. I see you have an 05 model. Does it have the pressure regulator on the road side gas line? If not that is probably what happen. The tank got empty and switched over and didn't relight intially. See other other posts on the same issue on the finance. Workhorse is right shut off the gas switch for WH for 10 secs. and turn back on will probably relite fine. If you add the regulator as described the problem will be history. Good luck! SKIA
