I will say one thing...this new software makes it a challange trying to do this type of post...something new to learn everytime I try. I like the Preview Post option...but the working window is toooooo small.

Presently I find myself in the mix of several projects….some are finished and others are still in the process of being completed. Others still to be started.

On the 26th of January, I started a thread call….Do you have Moisture?!?!

It dealt with a moisture problem I found within the walls of my unit. One I initially thought was a simple panel replacement, at least hoped anyway, and ended up on the 21st of February with a short wall repaired and the header above the Living room slide being replaced. Hard to imagine all the projects that 'spin off' from that!

With the inside complete and the exterior trim being installed….several of the 'spin off' projects included screw replacement of the entire 'curbside' of the unit. This included EVERYTHING. This required the vinyl insert trim to be moved off the channel or removed completely and replaced. As the trim around the slide and half the main trim/gutter at the roof was removed, lower wall trim and half the entry door trim….there was a lot of caulk that had to be removed and applied. An since all that removal and work was done….decided to compound and wax the curbside while the trim/caulk was removed. Guess its now or latter. Sure I left some things out…but you get the idea.

On the 9th of March, I've replaced 'bout half the screws on the 'curbside' so far…waiting on an order to arrive to complete the rest. All the caulk necessary has been removed and part of the waxing is complete. With all the un-Florida weather we have had this winter__glad it's under a cover.

As questions have been asked, or at least inquiring minds, were curious about rusted screws found on our units and the type of replacement screws one should use…..I have my answer. I've chose Stainless.

The following post….61__The life of a screw, is about one screw located at the top rear corner of the slide's wall trim. During the removal of the header, by chance I cut into the area of this screw. With the pictures of this project and the 100's of others on file….I was able to put the pictures together to show the effects of moisture damage caused by a rusted screw.

Post 62__An the other screw is, will cover the screws I've decided to use as replacements and those that are being removed. How exciting!

Been trying to group the photos of the slide header/short wall repair into what might be a sequence of posts that will cover the repairs. To cover the repairs, to give detail to segments of the repair and not make a single post so long that one forgets where they started….it might require +15 post. This is for the repair and all those 'spin-offs'. Boy, oh Boy! Not sure what I'll do.

I feel quite honored to be included in such a fine thread as the workhorse 101 thread!!! Back then I thought rusty screws were a normal part of aging!!! That was before I knew everything! Ha. rockin'
