I guess it could have been a lot worse, but EZ Pivot is no longer EZ or pivot

Just a week or two ago, I was thinking to myself that I would like to buy one of those diamond plate bumpers and brush gaurds. Well I have to replace the bumper now.

Oh yeah, Bambi didn't make it. . .but it took her about 700 yards to get out from under my truck and then trailer.

Wonder how cold it is in Smith Center now??? cause once my tanks fill up, I'm in serious trouble!!!

Doug,

So sorry to hear of your woes...sounds like it could be much worse. Glad no one was hurt (except Bambie). We saw a lot of dead deer on the side of the road here in South Texas. Where are you now? We're here in Boerne at the Alamo Fiesta RV park. Hopefully for a month. Tom

Doug:

Sorry to hear about your accident with nature but at least you and yours were o.k.

rockintom:

We stayed at that park when we were on or way home with the new-to-us DP. The owners/managers were very nice and the kids had a blast in the pool. We will surely stay there again if we find ourselves down that way.

BTW, my avatar was taken there.

Enjoy.

Quik,

We are from the SA area and stayed here before. Decent park, was disappointed last time cause the Wireless was down. Working now, so am much happier. The folks here are real nice and the sights in this area are just super! Tom

We drove through Boerne this morning (from Canyon Lake to rt 10. Hit the deer near Comfort.

Boerne looks like a real nice town, kinda rustic like Fredricksburg.

Tom, sorry but were sick from last Thursday through the weekend. We will get together some other time.

The good folks over at American RV in San Angelo fixed most of the broken pipe from the tanks to the EZPivot.

We are spending the night at Spring Creek Marina RV to use grey and black to see if there is any further damage.

I'm guessing that there is 4-5K damage to the truck, but it is drivable. (ty-wraps are amazing tools!) I have to be careful on hard, left turns as the bumper then hits the left tire. I was able to move the bumper some with the tire jack. (at first, I couldn't turn left at all)

Somewhere in between Thanksgiving and Xmas we will probably go back to Austin to get the truck fixed. My step-brother has worked as a mechanic all his life in the Austin area. He will know who can fix it the best.

This, plus the market losing 360 points has made for a wonderful day

Doug,
We just got here this evening, so don't feel bad about missing us (sounds like that would have been the only thing you missed today! ) We'll get together soon. Good luck on getting everything back in order. Full timing is a wonderful life, but it still has it's challenges! Just like any lifestyle! Good luck buddy! Texas folks are great aren't they? Tom

Doug, We live in Odessa, 120 miles northwest of San Angelo. If you need any help with your truck, let me know. We might be able to work on your bumper some if it needs it.

Unfinished,

Wow, thanks very much for the offer. We are up in Lubbock now.

I got the chrome moved away enough so the tire doesn't hit it. The plastic piece under the chrome was damaged, and is still full of deer fur. I just cut off the piece of plastic that was still hitting the tire.

Thanks again for the kind offer!

Got quotes yesterday from two Ford dealers, quotes were for about 2200 dollars.

Got one of these installed today for 1100 bucks, now the deer and antilope need to watch out for me!!

legend series

The 2" front receiver should come in handy someday!

Yeah, I was gonna suggest that you might want to take a look at Ranch Hand's line of deer strainers while you were in Boerne. Glad you found them!!

Doug,
I really like your Ranch Hand Legend Series bumper guard, makes these aftermarket types available around here look like he** in comparison. I bet it really enhances the look of that F550!
