RV Motion Lights (Installation Part 1)

Being a gadget nut, when I saw the Starlights product in Toyhauler Magazine, I wanted them! I think they will enhance both security and utility around the RV. I plan to write up a basic set of instructions when I am done, but if you want a preview, you can see my pictures at http://tinyurl.com/3ajurm.
Since these lights have to be activated by an on-off-on power sequence, the next part of this project is to add some low voltage switches inside the cabinets. Can't wait to finish the install and give them a test run. So stay tuned...

I think they look great, but are they really $100 each? Ouch

My DW asked me the exact same thing! From a security perspective, at least for my piece of mind, yes. If it deters someone from pilfering my pressure regulator, outdoor furniture, or whatever, I will recover the cost pretty quickly. From a utility point of view, when coming back to the rig after dark, I don't have to fumble for light switches or play musical keys. Part of the expense is the built in battery level monitoring so that the lights don't kill my batteries if I am boondocking. Of course, YMMV.

And another thought, you can use this installation method for any additional 12 volt outdoor lights or accessories.
