RV Parking in Portland, OR

We've spent many summers in the NW. Lovely weather most of the summer, and many things to see and do. Unfortunately, recently, the homeless folks are getting some old RVs (maybe some donated) and simply parking on the street and calling it home. They simply set up camp on the side of the road/street with their junk surrounding the rig. It seems the locally authorities don't really know how to handle the situation (ultra-super liberal area). This is one of the nicer setups.

Con't.....forgot to mention that the media has really been covering this issue and actually interviewing some of the folks living in these RVs on the street. Many say, they just are temporarily down on there luck. Some of these things are parked in decent neighborhoods. Since they are allowing them to continue parking there, while they figure out what to do, the numbers of them are growing rapidly. Time will tell what happens.

Just look at the tent cities setup under every freeway overpass. You can thank the liberal policies and the orders from top government officials to leave them alone. At one time Portland was a nice liberal small town. Now it is just another UGLY blite on the face of what once was a beautiful place to live. And this from a third generation Portlander. Glad I got out when I did.

You are partially correct. A certain % of the units a bought at the auction across the street (and they are cheap so they buy multiples of), and because the new owner doesn’t have a yard to scrap them in they are parked on the closest side street to be torn apart.
We have the same problem with cars as well, but they are easier to have towed away.

I've seen a few down at the Wood Village Camping World doing a free dump. Many are so pitiful, you are amazed that they even run.
