Hi All:
We will be spending Thanksgiving in north central Arkansas and are searching for a RV Park on I-30 between Texarkana and Little Rock to stay over one night as we drive north.
So far the most appealing park is De Gray Lake Campground (a Corps of Engineers facility) and not too far off the Interstate. And there are three separate locations at De Gray to choose from:
Arlie Moore Campground
Alpine Ridge Campground
Caddo Drive Campground
Seems like there is nothing around Hope or Arkadelphia that has good reviews unless we're missing something.
We can do without full hookups for one night along the way (they do have electricity and water).
Recommendations anyone?
THANK YOU in advance for any suggestions.
Sincerely,
Ken & Patti C.

Ken and Patie
We have driven that rout several times and you are right there are not much to cose from, I have Sean, not stayed there, a park at exit 7 in Ar on the north side of the road close to Fly J
that looks like an old KOA, it is in the open but this time of year you don't need shade, maybe good for an overnighter.

We recently were on that route....twice......and circumstances led us to stay at the Municipal Park in Hope, AR.
They have two 50 amp hook-ups and many 30's. It is peaceful and not to hard to get to, though you need pretty good directions. If you are interested, let me know and I will tell you in detail where the 50 amp hook-up is and how to get there. Their fee is $15. We used it for an overnighter. We went through the same problems as you. There aren't good choices in that area. There is a place in Arkadelphia, but we weren't too sure about it.

Dan & Don:
THANK YOU for your reply.
Don, the Hope Municipal Park sounds interesting. Yes, we'd appreciate details on how to find the 50 amp sites. Do they have water as well? Who do you contact? Sounds like a city owned park.
Yeah, the park in Arkadelphia had extremely poor reviews we thought.
Dan, we think that just might be a KOA at mile marker 7. We wanted to get about 40-50 miles further up I-30 and getting to Hope would be about half of our trip to north-central Arkansas (Bull Shoals).
We'll come back to the Texas Hill Country a different route with stopovers at Lake Tenkiller and near Denton, TX. Then home the next afternoon.
THANKS again for sharing your experiences,
Ken & Patti C.

Don't know if its too far out of the way, but we liked Cloud Nine RV Park. It is listed for Hot Springs, but it is several miles before Hot Springs. And if you have an extra day, the baths at Buckstaff are amazing!

We stop at the Village Inn RV Park in Hope frequently. I know, it has some bad write ups. I think it's just fine for an overnight stop. $20, 50A FHU. Concrete pads and free WIFI if your're not too far from the office. Easy access to the interstate.
We have also spent the night in the Texas Welcome Center in Texarkana.
