*S&J* We Can Learn From the Youngsters

This AM I was out waxing on the Journey when a small, older TT pulled in a site a couple down from us. I was on the ladder doing my thing, when I overheard the conversation of a very young (early twenties) trying to get the rig lined up on the site. She was outside at the rear coaching the driver, but apparently he wasn't doing what she wanted. It was obvious that it may have been their first time. After a bit of back and forth (this is a long pull thru) she became very loud and frustrated. She was on the verg of blowing a fuse, when the guy got out and went back to where she was standing and just wrapped his arms around her and planted a big one on her. He just kept it up until she calmed down. I almost lost my footing on the ladder! I thought, why didn't you ever think of that, rockin'? I think I could use a refresher course from Steven Covey, Dale Carnegie or the like! Holy mackeral, I do think we can learn from some of our youngster!!!

P.S. Still, "planted one on" means he gave her a kiss!

I know what you meant, I'm not that much out of touch with the big city ways.

Working in Lawrence, Ks 10 years taught me a lot. Every type of person is there.

You worked in Lawrence....you were a 30 minute drive to our place in Overland Park! What did you do in Lawrence? Lawrence is not exactly a big town! Nice little college town though. I used to call on the GM dealers there. Go KU! Had a girlfriend that was a dorm mother K-State....made for interesting times.

Chiefs are playing right now....only if had interest in sports! We (Chevy) had 2 suites at the Kaufmann stadium. Donna and I would host sometimes. It was fun with food and drink! Enough of my ol' home stuff.

One thing leads to another. Pretty soon you just park it anywhere and go inside.

How does that help you to line up the trailer?

I tried that once. Pulled into the campground, Overkill and the Excel were all shined up and pretty. I saw our campsite, pulled a little past and began to back in. My helper backing in was a little more animated than usual as I easily backed the "Funhouse" on to the sight. As a matter of fact she appeared to be quite irritated. So, I climbed down out of the truck, walked back to her and kissed her full on the lips for about 45 seconds. After she recovered she said, "Sir, it is going to cost you more that one kiss to pay for my popup you just backed over.
