I use the Dish 1000.2 Sat one with 3 heads, dish with the 722 HD reciever and I have found the numbers for Elevations, asumth and squew that you get from the reciver by inputing the Zip code will not work to find the 129 Sat, the one that has the HD channels. Google the Dish Sat 1000.2 instalation instructions and it has a differnt set of numbers and they will find 110, 119 and 129 sats.

We need a spell check aviable for this site!!

I use this one. Free for non commerical users. When you're in an area with words, just right click your mouse and click on "check spell"! It's that easy. I've use it for years. Now if there was a program that told me what to say!! Are we yet?

Only 2 companies make an antenna that will work with the Dish Net. HD programming. The Winegard and the MotoSAT (HD-DP3). Both appear to be working very well but Winegard's history is not very good. This is "by far" the best introduction Winegard has ever had into the marketplace and only time will tell how it holds up long term.
Take a look at both products as they are both operating very well at the current time.\
As to spell check, iespell is a great program and I cudn't git alng wehtout it! (I had to click "ignore" a lot to get this post posted.)

It appears that VuQube now makes one that includes the Dish HD capability.

I am curious if anyone has experience with this as it seems that if it works well, it could be the best of both worlds. When parked under the trees, its portable and allows movement to a clear view. But also has a optional mount that can go on the rig ladder when in a clear view.

Anyone know anything about these?

This forum has instituted a new rule that now prevents anyone from editing their own post after 15 minutes so I am not able to correct my post above.
What it should have said is that there are only 2 companies that make a multi-LNB antenna.
Several domes will work with the Dish Net. system but none can see more than one satellite at a time.

The VuQube cannot work with the DirecTV HDTV programming but it likely can work the same as a dome antenna does for Dish Net by pointing to different satellites as necessary. The biggest concern with the VuQube is security. I don't think I want to leave an $800 antenna sitting out over night for anyone to steal.

The Vu Qube 2000 advertises itself as Dish HD capable with two LNB's to allow for two receivers. This is signifigantly different than the original Vu Qube, and of course more money. Do you think this is incorrect? As you probably know a lot more about these than I do. Thanks

Your perception of what it says about the VuQube is incorrect.
What the VuQube has is a dual LNB with allows for the operation of multiple (2 or more) receivers. A dual LNB is one single LNB with dual outputs. Dish Network refers to their LNB that will pick up 110 and 119 as a twin LNB and to receive HD programming you need to also be able to pick up 129 on the West Coast or 61.5 on the East Coast.
A single dual LNB is still only one LNB and can only be pointed toward 1 satellite at a time.

Thanks Bill,

I don't know what is what I guess. Before your last post, I ended up talking directly with the techs at the company. I think its Wallace Technologies if I remember correctly, in any case, the same company that makes the king dome. He assured me that the Vu Qube 2000 is Dish 1000 HD capable. He also said it is not Direct HD capable and that everyone is struggling with the Direct HD switchover (he gave me some technical reasons which were greek to me) But he said all Dish HD programming is not a problem with the 2000.

King Dome is manufactured by King Controls www.kingcontrols.com and the information on the VuQube is there. As I said, it CANNOT view more than 1 satellite at a time since it only has one LNB. That does not mean it will not "work" with the Dish HD, only that you must wait for the LNB to move to the various satellites necessary for reception. The website says that it automatically toggles between satellites but it does not say it toggles between ALL of the satellites. As of today I do not know of a system that will toggle between 3 satellites without some additional user intervention. You just need to get a copy of the owner manual and find out what steps are necessary to move between 110, 119 and 129.

I found some interesting tid-bits on the King Dome site regarding their systems. The first is about the receivers that will work with their products. This alone would be a deal breaker for me!

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Single vs. Dual Tuner receivers. King Controls recommends using a SINGLE TUNER receiver. For DISH Network we recommend the 301 or 311 receivers. For DIRECTV, we recommend the D11 or D12 receivers. Do not use dual tuner receivers or recorders. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">DISH 500
5.1 Dish 500 programming is broadcast from
both the 110 and 119 satellites. Once you
have stored both the 110 and 119 satellite
locations into the VuQube memory, you can
easily switch between the two satellites
depending on which satellite has your desired
programming.
5.3 The VuQube will switch to the newly selected satellite and
the program download screen will appear.
If this screen does not appear, reset the receiver: press and
hold the POWER button on your receiver for 10 seconds.
(Although the VuQube will switch satellites properly, you may
have to reset the receiver each time you switch satellites.) </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
