In Just two weeks we will pick up our 33L RSE! Has anyone added screens to their Excel to make a screen room?

Bruce and Jenna,
No first-hand knowledge, but based on observations in campgrounds, takes a considerable amount of time to set-up and take-down. Storage can also become an issue -- maybe not initially because of all the space for storage inside/outside of your new 5th wheel. Surprisingly how quickly things become cramped. Just ask my DW about those extra wide recliners we just had to have .

If you're going to be in one place for several weeks at a time, a screen room might be nice. However, if you move frequently, I would think it would be way too much of a hassle to put up and take down. YMMV.

Another question I've always had about screen rooms: What happens when a strong wind comes up? When we were staying at Ute Lake State Park just outside of Logan, NM recently, we had a couple of very severe storms come through. The first one (as we learned the next day) was a tornado watch/warning and we had VERY HIGH winds! I don't know the mph of the wind, but it was enough to pick up our batwing antenna, which was lying flat on the roof, and continually bang it on the roof. (Plus there was some metal underneath the rig that rattled in the wind...we never have figured out exactly what it was, but I thought at some points, the wind was going to tear off whatever it was. Not to mention the buffeting the rig took...so much so that, a few times, I was afraid the wind was going to blow the rig over!) I hate to think what would have happened had we had our awning out and a screen room attached!

Thank you Chief John and LindaH for your comments. You've given me new perspectives from which to think about the pros and cons of adding a screen room. I think we'll put off the decision until we find ourselves staying for extended periods of time in buggy areas.

Bruce and Jenna,
Can hear the excitement and it is familiar. We bought our new Excel over two months ago and have only been able to spend one night in it so far. On Tuesday next, we are pulling out for a week's stay in the fiver and I'm telling you, I'm like a kid at Christmas. As the young folks used to say, I'm stoked.
