Looking for some ideas for an inside shoe rack. We have the outside wooden platform under the steps to hold our water shoes and other outside dirty or muddy shoes on the floor. Our entry way is quite narrow and I've found myself stubbling over shoes. I have tried to put an over-the-door hanging cloth style from Walmart on our side kitchen wooden panel without any luck as the pockets aren't big enough for regular sized shoes. Kids sandals are about the size they hold. I can't put a self standing shoe rack as it stands way too far into the aisle. I even tried to get a free standing closet shoes rack further into the kitchen where it comes in contact with the living room carpet and can't find one narrow enough to fit under the kitchen counter properly. I could make a wooden one I guess, but that alot of work for a rack only 17" wide.

What do you have? I've searched the internet til I'm blue. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. rockin'

Bruce,

Yeah, I did remember your setup. I was just looking for more ideas. Thanks for the reminder! When I was there last month, of course, I saw your setup but didn't pay close attention to it. We had a lot going on!

I can't tell by the photo.....you cut the metal tubing with your Dremel, but how did you attach the pieces together? Thanks, rockin'

One tube slips into another. It's designed that way.

I just shortened the lower tube, as the rack is designed for a (longer) door.

Bruce and Rockin', you guys make me chuckle. Nice job on the shoe rack Bruce. My counter "end-piece" has cab doors on it, which is also handy, but a shoe rack would be nice. I'll have to try a modification. Thanks for the idea.

Rockin, We had the same issue. We bought a fabric style crate and set it under the counter extension (we keep that out when we are parked). Take our shoes off and put them in the crate. We tried a couple things and this has worked the bet for us.

Thanks Janie.....can you send a pic of what you have? Or link me to where you bought it......so I can visulize what your talking about.

When you say you have it on the counter extension.....are you talking the kitchen extension by the carpet or the one on the side of the stove?

Thanks! rockin'
