Shower leak update and some cool tools

Hi all...
I believe I posted earlier about our shower leak. If not, here is a brief summary: Our shower started leaking over a year ago. Lee caulked it all over (never too much caulk) and it stopped for a long time. Then just before we got to Smith Center for some maintenance work it started leaking again. We figured we would just let them take care of it. They strippped the caulk and recaulked. All seemed fine for a few days (until we were far from SC) and then it started leaking again! Over the next several weeks, Lee caulked and recaulked many times. Finally we arrived back on the east coast and our son-in-law stripped out all the old and recaulked.
We still had a slight leak and so we had him put in an access door so we could look more closely for the drops. Then we began using red dye to try and track down the leaking spot. Eventually we found that a screw had been stripped and was letting in water. We put in a new screw with silicone and then added more caulk. During the whole process we discovered some useful tools as well. Here are a few pictures of our journey to solve the leak.
Wow...this adding of pictures (for you Tom!) didn't work so well. But if you look, this is what you will see: The basement roof showing leaking stains, the corner where our son-in-law put extra caulk, the spray used to remove and clean the silicone, the access door cut into the linen closet, the tool used for scraping caulk, and the side of the shower with the bad screw, and finally a picture of the bad screw (it was the fourth one up the side).
Whew....

Loralie,

The pix have to be good (not blurry and positioned correctly) before you post them to the website to be able make them out. Don't be too hard on yourself.....practice makes perfect! I still can't figure it out, but I'm not too dawg-gone sharp...you know? rockin'

We had a shower leak that caulk didn't seem to help stop. When we were at SC this last time, they took the whole thing out and caulked under it in addition to all the other caulk. It finally stopped.

Well, 4 showers down and no leaks. We'll see how long that lasts. Those couple hours of scraping, cleaning, drying and caulking, not to mention being a contortionist, just seems too easy. From my past experience, water leaks are never that easy!
