" When I see you next month...we can take a look at them also. " Careful what you say Chris!! You may become known as the "Smith Center of Jacksonville".
Off to the local custom truck shop -- the boy that takes care of our lawn ran his large mower into my new LED running lights on the side of my steps. Have no idea why he was 'mowing' grass on a gravel pad? Oh well, cost his boss $150 for new lights/installation -- one 62" light-bar trashed!

Chris, lag bolt replaced -- you made it e-a-s-y and the process is well documented. Unfortunately, for now the standard grade lag bolt will have to suffice. My local hardware store didn't stock any grade #5 lags. IMHO, the lag bolts don't serve much of a purpose ???
Now to work on 'SemiSuite' -- thought I had two cab marker lights burnout, so I purchased five new LED lights. Installed and the same two lights are a 'no go' -- no juice = lights don't work = irritated man! Now I can start tracing the problem!

Chief,
As a matter of course, HD and Lowes carry the #5 and #8 grade bolts.
They are not with the standard nuts and bolts. It's usually across the aisle with the speciality hardware items (clips, washers, and metric stuff), in the drawers. Not real cheap, but they stock them. I've found the nut and bolt stores are a bit cheaper.
LEDs as a rule, have a very low failure rate compared to filament bulbs. Sounds like you put the cart before the horse! I try to limit myself to about of dozen screwups a day. At least you admit it.....which makes my job of teasin' you rather easy. You are quite, "da man"!!! Let us know what fixes it. Then I find some way to tease you again!! rockin'

SKIA, you're right again!! I had other things going on and didn't make the trip into town and the 'Big-Box' stores -- we've got a couple of Ma' and Pa's local hardware stores in our small town. One of them still has items from the '50s on the shelves! Went with the cheaper grade for now.
'Semi-Suite' is on the agenda for tomorrow.

Solved the 'light' issue -- "Sibernut" over on the HDT form explained. The center 3 lights are ICC Marker Lights and the two on the corners are clearance lights. That's why I have to flip two rocker switches to turn on the five cab 'marker lights'.

Noticed A lag bolt that looked loss so I tighten it and in checking the others I found that I could no get a socket on two of them our a regular wrench either since they are recessed. The problem with the socket is that the bolt head is to close to the gasket. Any ideas on how to get on them without messing up slide gasket?

I would opt for a dealer to take care of the problem, especially since it's a 2010. Problem would be documented if a worse lag bolt situation developes in the future.

Thanks sounds like a plan to me. I'll be in Smith Center in early April anyway with a couple of other things. Can"t see any big rush on the bolts. I can keep them from backing out much with a pair of vice grips and little turn at a time.

Probably more than you wanted to know about lights -- post to my topic on the HDT forum. Rick provides the 'facts' according to the NHTSA.
"To be pedantic:
The center three are rear identification lamps. They are required for vehicles over 80" (2032 mm) wide (except for "Truck Tractors"). There must be exactly three red lights spaced 6" (150 mm) to 12" (300 mm) apart as high as practicable. Trailers wider than 80" must have them, too (even boat trailers).
For completeness, vehicles wider than 80" (except trailers) must also have front identification lamps (exactly three yellow spaced 6" to 12" apart as high as practicable).
That's why dual rear wheel pickups have front and rear identification lamps while single rear wheel pickups are not required to have them.
Here are the Federal Lighting Equipment Locations Requirements
regards,
Rick"

That's interesting considering my rear lights are below the tailgate for the tow vehicle. I guess that counts as "high as practical".
