Noticed a plastic 'shim' under the rear slide-out that is wearing thru the sheathing and does not appear to belong. The shim is white in color and approximately 2" tall and 3" deep. There is only 1 shim and when looking at the bottom seal from the outside the slide only touches at the far end. The other slides do not have any shims and sit flat against the seal. Anyone else have this type of shim under the slide?

A picture would be helpfull...but would guess it doesn't belong there. On my 2001, I don't have that shim and trying to 'picture' what it looks like.

Troy...sorry to say I, I don't think that thing belongs there. Its not a Tuperware lid for sure. Considering it's location, not sure I understand the location or the function.

Have you been able to bring the slide in/out with it in place, it sounds like you have....

I'm guessing, but because of the wear and tear on the 'floor outer fabric' their might be other problems with the floor. Only saying that of the location of the rips and the 'bow' the wedge/block has caused. Hope not.

I'm going to work in a few minutes...will look for others responses and can post other pictures tonight of other things to look at tonight when I get home.

Ditto what workhorse says......and it appears the "shim" is making the floor bow up near the center. The floor should be very close (or even touching) the outside bottom "weatherstrip". Don't think it is suppose to be there. Might suggest running the slide in maybe 4 or 5 inches and then slightly jack up the slide wall and see if you can see the shim better and see if its attached or whatever. rockin'

That is definately a foriegn object of some kind. Run the room in enough to get it up the ramp a ways and you should be able to crawl back under and remove it.

Darn! They're right.. it's not my Tupperware lid. Looks like something that was put there while fixing something else and forgot to remove.

Has anything new been added... like carpet, wood or tile flooring, that would require a temporary raising or even permanent raising to clear the new item?
